Calm and quite place with all the facilities for work from home. They provide simple & delicious breakfast as well. It's 1min walk to the kandy lake round. Lake round walk in the evening, really cools anyone's mind!

Not a bad location, within walking distance of the lake. Balcony with sunlight. Affordable price, so value isn't bad.

Noise from nearby bar (but it stopped around 10pm). The host negotiated very hard on the price, and it made for an awkward stay. I stopped by and he offered a price with breakfast, then lowered it without breakfast. This was higher than the with-breakfast price on Booking, so I said I'd instead book via Booking. I did that (i.e. my reservation included breakfast) but then he didn't want to give me breakfast. I didn't want to argue, but in the morning I told him it was wrong. He gave me a $1-2 refund for not getting breakfast, but it took a *lot of arguing to get that solution. Not worth the hassle.

"Lovely place to stay, local hotel."

Superkind host, very helpful. Lovely gestures like coffee/tea on arrival, storing our large backpacks when we went on a 2-day trek (and then returned for another night here). Common place to relax. The hotel is near city centre, quite near Temple of the Tooth (2km walk or tuktuk) and all sorts of restaurants.

Nothing bad to report. Shower and bed were good too.

Upul and staff are amazing - friendly and welcoming. We felt well-looked after. Location not far from town - could have walked but took a tuk-tuk. Location is good and good food close by.

Room a little small and basic than we normally get but adequate for our needs
