Zazil Retreat

I had a great time at Zazil retreat. I especially enjoyed the big pool to relax and the hammocks were a great touch as well. Breakfast was delicious and plenty. The hostess Christa and the workers there were very attentive and helpful with anything I might need. Any concerns I had were adressed immediately and I was offered different options to find a solution that works for me. The walk to the beach and then back up might be a bit steep for some but I didn’t really mind, it was definitely worth it for the views from the bungalows.

There was no hot water, which wasn’t too bad since it was rather warm during my stay. The lights in the rooms could be a bit brighter.

Es uno de los lugares más mágicos de la costa oaxaqueña. En plena naturaleza, te dormías con el sonido lejano del mar y de la naturaleza. El personal maravilloso, te limpian la habitación todos los días y te cuidan como si estuvieras en casa. Las sábanas suaves, la cama grande, la ducha con vistas al mar. En la terraza privada te relajabas con las hamacas. El desayuno incluye una barra de pan recién hecho riquísimo y crujiente. Christa, la anfitriona, es un encanto de la que nos costó despedirnos después de pasar tantos días en el paraíso. Todo el personal es magnífico. Hemos estado una semana y nos ha faltado días. La ubicación es perfecta, lejos del ruido de los pueblos más turísticos. La playa de la bahía apta para baño ya que es más tranquila. La otra playa está más expuesta y es ideal para surfistas expertos. Ya queremos volver.

Une vue exceptionnelle, des équipements de qualité, une hôte accueillante et aidante. La chambre était confortable et la terrasse parfaite pour se détendre dans les hamacs avec vue sur mer. Un petit déjeuner excellent avec jus et fruits frais succulents.

Rien

Ein traumhafter Ort zum Ausspannen. Wir hatten einen tollen Ausblick auf das Meer, diesen konnte man entweder vom Bett aus oder auch von den Hängematten auf der Terrasse genießen. Man ist mitten in der Natur und hört auch die ganze Zeit die Laute von Vögeln, Eichhörnchen etc. Das Zimmer hatte zwar keine Klima, aber es gibt einen Ventilator. Man hat auch einen kleinen Kühlschrank um seine Getränke kalt zu stellen sowie eine kleine Kaffeemaschine. Christa ist eine ganz besondere Gastgeberin die auch viel zu erzählen hat und uns noch einige Ausflugsziele empfohlen hat. Das inkludierte Frühstück ist grundsolide, wer etwas mehr möchte kann auch noch ein großzügigeres Frühstück dazubuchen. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Auch das Personal war stets sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Einzig der sehr steile Weg ist insbesondere bei Mittags Hitze ohne Auto etwas mühsam. Wir haben daher auch 2x ein Taxi hoch genommen weil wir platt waren. Aber das Ziel ist die Mühe definitiv wert!

Sleeping with the ocean waves in the background and waking up with a fantastic view of the sea - Zazil is like a little piece of paradise on earth. While the drive to the retreat is steep, the reward is a peaceful location far off all noise and with a spectacular view. The beach is within a 10 minute walk and way less crowded than in Puerto Escondido or even Mazunte. Christa was a fantastic host with a unique mix of Mexican hospitality and gruff North German humour, which we thoroughly enjoyed. She gave us fantastic recommendations and even took us to Agua Blanca, which is a secret spot where we had the beach practically for ourselves. All in all, it felt like being part of the family.

Nothing, we loved it!

Un emplacement exceptionnel,au calme, en surplomb face à la mer. La décoration, les matériaux utilisés, les proportions générales, tout est pensé de manière très artistique. Les oiseaux , la nature nous entourent et c'est un régal chaque nuit et chaque matin d'entendre les chants. La patronne est charmante, souriante et efficace. Elle nous a guidés vers de bons restaurants. On reviendra en famille ...

The views, the breeze, the esthetic of the place, my room which felt like a little nest above the world!

My only criticism is that the pool was dirty and seemed forgotten - but they had it cleaned as soon as I mentioned it and I’m told they’re renovating it this summer!

What a gorgeous and peaceful place! Very tastefully appointed and the location (a steep but short walk from the beach) affords a birds' eye view of the ocean below--including whales! Fresh& delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Our cabin was cozy, the bed very comfortable& we loved sleeping to the sound of the waves. Thank you for everything!! We hope to come back again!
