"Lovely hotel with very friendly employees!"

10.0

Lovely hotel, located near the town as well as the beach in front of the hotel. Wonderful rooms, a nice garden, delicious food and all of the staff were super friendly and helpful. We can very much recommend the massage - it is great, and can be booked through the reception. The atmosphere is relaxed 😊 If it’s your first stay in Madagascar, you should be prepared that showers sometimes will not be hot. This was also the case the week we stayed. Another thing to be prepared for, is that Morondava is known for its fishing (and the processing of this). When the fish are laid out on the sand to dry, this can have a smell to it. But that’s not on the hotel, that’s just the people doing their job ❤️

"Not the best possible place."

6.0

Food in the restaurant. Baobab water as the welcome drink. Walking distance to the non-bathable beach. Actual polular beach is half a km farther north.

The bathroom door of the first room given to us cannot be closed at all. We had to change. I clearly asked on phone for Baobab alley trip in the north in one day and Kirindy in the South. But the reception people messed up. They took us to the baobab alley one day and then next day another driver took us to Kirindy Forest in the north which is a private park and had virtually nothing. Worst: he drove through the same baobab alley for which I had to pay 240000 Ar. So my second day trip was wasted and ended up spending 400000 ar for seeing one lemur variety. The pain we took to make the morondava/antananarivo didn't pay off.

"Overall nice place to stay right on the beach"

8.0

Right on the beach with a great restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful. Property is beautiful.

Our particular unit had a boarded-up hole in the ceiling with some sort of animals living up inside the roof. Dirt would fall down from the corners of the hole as moved around.

"Marvelous location and great swimming pool and beach area."

8.0

The location exact on a beach is great, there are also small shops and restaurants around. Breakfast was great. We haven’t tried the dinner but the menu was full of local choices. Swimming pool area is marvelous, and there is also a service there to order snacks and drinks. Special thanks to young lady from the restaurant staff that has taken care for us and our son, when at last day he was sick, we received a green tea for our youngster. When we found the problem with our key locker at arrival staff has changed that fast. That was a good stay. And the Morondava area around to experience a nature is great as well.

We have had 4 beds on arrival, without a notice someone has taken from a room while we were gone one of them. Which is by reason all ok, although that was strange that we were not notified about it. At the checking in we could have receive more information about the hours for breakfast for example. I liked the gentle but strong security in there. We felt good with that as some coming around locals weren’t such nice.

"Superb"

9.0

Female solo traveller . I felt very safe and secure here . They have on site security all day and night , and he even kept an eye on me when I walked down onto the beach . I ran out of credit on my Malagasy sim at night so the reception man went and topped it up for me . The staff tried to help with contacting Soatrans for me . Good WiFi . Hot shower . Good food . Safe box in room .

To make sure they always check that the tortoises have food and water .

"Great AC, but not great value for your money"

5.0

The AC worked great and the restaurant and lounge area by the pool were good.

The safe in the room wasn’t working and took us over 45 minutes to get sorted by staff and required them to bring a new one, but it finally got fixed. I was also frustrated at check out when I was asked to pay more than the booking.com site quoted for my reservation. This difference was substantial and not related to exchange rates or taxes. I had my booking.com quote and refused to pay extra. Their cc machine wasn’t working which further complicated things as getting sufficient amounts of cash from that ATMs in town is hard and may require going to several different ones. This property is overpriced for the room for sure so not a great value.
