Hotel San Martin La Punta

The hotel had a beautiful swimming pool and an excellent location in the middle of the main drag within about a 2 minute block from the beach. The room was clean and the decor was charming. The beds were comfortable and the bedding nice. The shower was piping hot and had great water pressure. We were there 3 days and did not have made service nor were we offered fresh towels. Our room did not have a chair or a closet, just a few hooks. There were no cups or glasses in our room and no filtered water or coffee. In the morning, I had to get up, get dressed and had to leave the room and go outside the hotel just to get a cup of coffee. To add insult to injury, I am an early riser and nothing in town is open until 8:00. We booked the hotel with the understanding that there was a communal kitchen. We even called in advance to confirm the availability of the kitchen. There was a poorly equipped, filthy kitchen in the hotel garage. It was gross and looked down right unsanitary. It had only one pot and one broken cup. It did however have filtered water, the only plus. The hotel is cute and charming. As a pervious owner of a large hostel, it seems a small thing to stock the rooms with glasses and cups and to have filtered water dispensers on each floor as well as to provide the rooms or at least each floor with electric kettles and instant coffee and tea. As for the communal kitchen, there is no excuse that it be disgusting.

They do not provide water, the wifi didn’t reach our room, the bathroom was not very clean, the showerhead was broken and sprays all over the bathroom. Our patio had no hammock and all others did, there’s no place to hang wet clothes (which as a beach town hotel, you have a lot of). And it advertised free parking but it’s something you have to specifically request well in advance to claim.

The hotel is very nice, I have been there twice. However, there are a few details they need to work on. Loose toilet seats, drawers in bad shape, outdoor shower for rinsing sand not working. It is a great hotel but they need to put some general maintenance in order to keep the hotel in good shape.

Agradable estancia, en recepción el trato siempre fue amable y atento. Las habitaciones siempre muy limpias, aunque sus colchones ya merecen un cambio. Algo a tomar en cuenta es que al lado hay un antro que suele tener música hasta entrada la noche. Por lo demás muy recomendable :)
