Right on the beach, spacious dorm, great value for money.

Only one in the dorm - slightly unnerving just beware, maybe not best for solo. Also crabs in the dorm (understandable as on beach)

Directly at the beach. Open kitchen at the beach.

The kitchen and outdoor area is a little old. There was no shower outside, so you need to wash your sandy feet’s in the kitchen or bring the sand inside the room.

Amazing place to stay wish it could have been a little longer

Amazing location, right on the beach, 20 minute walk to Beginners Bay. Really comfy sofas in the seating area. Nice and small, so not overcrowded with guests.

Unfortunately the toilet in our room wouldn't flush, so we had to use a bucket. The water ran out the first day but this was quickly resolved. Also the power goes out a lot (not the fault of the hostel) It would be good to get a generator or back up for the router, without internet on our day of check out we were left stranded for a bit.

A super chill little spot. Very quiet, not many people about when we were there, meaning there was a big area for chilling and kitchen was quiet too. Room comfy and good size tho I think if I went back to Popoyo I'd choose somewhere with Aircon !! Didn't see any boards for hire but given the distance to surf you'd want to rent from Anthony above the break anyway to save carrying boards back.

A little far from the surf and shops. Didn't bother us but it is worth noting it was just a hostel - not a surf camp as some of the info online suggests.
