Awesome location! Breakfast and dinner was excellent. Great hosts and everything was easy with activities and day trips organized through the staff. Highly recommend if staying in Maderas 🤙

The front of house staff here are fantastic and create a really wholesome environment. The rest of the team make sure the place is immaculate and the food they prepare is top notch. Playa Maderas has a beautiful beach and incredible sunsets, with just enough in terms of bars and restaurants to give options but still feel small. Great alternative to the more built-up San Juan del Sur.

Amazing view, amazing staff (Hebe and Josh are the sweetest). Very relaxing and calm place, unbelievable breakfast, great place to just land.

The staff here were amazing!! They kept you in the loop of things to do and where to go on certain nights (at other hostels as there is no "town"). It's only a 7 minute walk to the beach down a large hill! But the views are unbeatable. Breakfast is absolutely delicious and we all eat together which lets us get to know the other guests. There are only a few villas so it keeps the place personable, lots of time to sit and enjoy the tropical sounds with a good book and view in the common area or on the deck of your villa. They have access to water, some snacks and various drinks which is nice since there are no stores around and at a fair price. Highly recommend !

Amazing hospitality

We visited Buena Vista Surf Club every morning for yoga with Sophie and Josh, and they quickly became some of our favorite hosts. They are truly incredible people—welcoming, kind, and so thoughtful. The yoga sessions were amazing, and the family-style breakfast they served was delicious, full of great conversation and warmth. Sophie even arranged a lovely massage for us on a rainy day, which was a perfect way to relax. She also helped us connect with other guests who were traveling to Ometepe, so we could share the fare to the San Jorge ferry terminal—such a thoughtful gesture that made our travels so much easier. Even though we weren't staying at the surf club, Sophie and Josh treated us like family, going above and beyond to make our experience special. The yoga, the food, and their hospitality were all top-notch. We’d highly recommend Buena Vista Surf Club and would definitely consider staying here if we’re ever back in the area.

Peaceful, great view, yoga and meals were excellent, hosts make sure you have plans for the day and can take care of any transportation needed

Everything was great about the property but note you are a bit isolated (which can be a good thing!)

Breakfast was amazing, great location close to the beach (watch the steep hill though). Great that the staff had restaurant suggestions every night. Loved the cabañas and the view from the deck.

Would have loved warm showers, and the information about needing a 4x4 (or using the shuttle from San Juan del Sur) to get there would have been useful to have beforehand.
