Buena Vista Surf Club

BVSC is an amazing place for anyone; whether you are a family, a couple or an individual. Aside from the premises, which are absolutely fantastic (the pictures speak for themselves), what made a real difference for us was the people. The staff is truly amazing and very kind. The kitchen is remarkable; the breakfast included is very generous and various and if you have a chance to try the dinner you will not regret it. We also really recommend the Yoga with Josh, followd by an ice bath. Johnny, the current owner, is a great guy. He made us feel very welcome. despite our short stay, we felt like we had known him for ages. He has a surf shop in town, which makes great coffee, and if you are keen he also teaches ju jitsu in San Juan.

The BVSC is amazing ! This little hidden paradise is so peaceful with only good vibes, and the view from the deck is just incredible . Playa Maderas sunset is one of a kind 🌟 and watching the stars from the deck => WAHOO The yoga with Fabi is a must-have ! Ask for a massage , Milena is wonderful. The breakfast is fantastic . Thank you, Fabi, for your beautiful energy, your advices and good tips . I could carry on like this 5 stars 🌟

Lots of common space, excellent breakfast. Very peaceful. Manager was fabulous and helpful.

Loved the place. The views are amazing. The vibe is really good. Need a 4 X 4 to do the last 100m. I had a car so I parked it at the beach. Few requests for the management as I will def be back. Will be good to have hot water. It would be great to have the fans in common area and room changed to ones that run beyond speed 1 :) as it does get hot.

Food was delicious, and it was fun to have family style meals to meet the other guests. The huts are nice, comfortable and peaceful. Close to the beach, but beware there is a steep, rocky/uneven road between the property and the main road that takes some effort (or a 4WD vehicle). Appreciated the honor system snacks and drinks in the main house with very reasonable prices. Manager Fabienne was an absolute lifesaver! She was in constant contact with us before we left the U.S. and as we traveled from Costa Rica, providing invaluable recommendations on how to get there, including connecting us with a driver who took great care of us the entire week while staying here and in Granada. Whatever she is being paid isn't enough!

Should provide soap/shampoo in the bathrooms for convenience of guests.

This is a gorgeous property with great amenities and a relaxed atmosphere. Yoga classes, massages, and meals are all offered by this accommodation at excellent prices. We will definitely stay here again in the future!

Please note that if you are driving a car, you cannot drive it directly to the Buena Vista Surf Club unless your vehicle is a 4X4. We did not know this until we were arriving late at night and figuring out what to do with the car was quite hectic. If you are driving without a 4X4, you can park either at the beach or Selina Maderas Hotel, just be aware the roads are very steep. We loved this property, but if you have a non-4X4 rental car just be aware of the parking situation and you'll be fine when arriving.
