Worse experience ever. I was robbed in my room by the staff. They made it seem they would work it out. In the end they didn’t do anything and told me they would offer the taxi back to the airport - when it was time for the taxi they said they “DEFINITELY “wouldn’t offer it and I should try to get one for myself, when it was agreed since the day I arrived they would get me one - VERY VERY DISHONEST people running this place !!! Pay properly your local staff so they don’t have the need to steal from your customers !!!

This was one of the worst travel experiences I have had in my life. I arrived and they had no record of my stay. They were EXTREMELY rude and did not even apologize or make us feel like they had made any mistake. The property was in shambles and we had to go find another hotel late at night. DO NOT BOOK.

Welp. I had the worst experience at Buena Vista! We showed up after a monstrous drive up the hill to find out that our reservation was nowhere to be find. The woman who answered the door was not only surprised by our arrival but extremely rude. She did nothing to make us feel like we were welcome. She showed us a dirty room and told us she could maybe make up the room for us. I’ve never been treated like this in my entire life!!! It was so bad that we had to find a new hotel at 11pm at night. I would give them no stars if I could.

Staying here was a disaster before I even arrived. Booking here was a disaster. When I had to change my dates. I was told by one staffer everything was fixed and then asked by another why I hadn’t arrived. When I did arrive on the correct date, hot and dusty from a long trip, the manager, Chris, didn’t offer to help with my bags and instead forcefully demanded that I take off my shoes. He then told me there would be no dinner, unlike what I had been told. There weren’t enough people he said to justify it. When I asked where I could eat, he just looked at me and walked off. The area is surrounded by steep dirt roads and there are no restaurants within an easy walk. It’s very dark with no street lights. I ended up eating chips for dinner. My cabin was very hot, fan didn’t work and the jungle was so loud at night, I got little sleep. The dirt and rock road up and down to the beach is steep and you will slide if you wear flip flops. The small beach and water is jammed with classes, families, swimmers, volleyball players and excellent surfers. It’s an accident waiting to happen. I opted not to go surfing. Exhausted and not feeling well, I decided to cut my five day stay short and leave the next day. When I told the manager, Chris, he said that I had to pay for all five nights and the booking fee. I told him I would only pay for one night. He then called the owner to come speak with me. The guy arrived looking to pick a fight and insisted I had to pay. I refused and said I would pay for one night and pay a little extra. I ended up paying for a night and a half. They didn’t have my credit card information so ostensibly I could have walked out the door, but traveling alone with bags and a board, it didn’t seem like a good idea.

The access road is a disaster. Must have 4 wheel drive to get up the gravel hill. Walking to beach and back is a problem if you are not in surfer condition
