Beautifully located, relaxed yet luxurious property 5 minutes walk from playa maderas. Breakfast was amazing and enjoyed the options of family dinner, yoga and a great surf lesson. The wildlife on the property was amazing.

You live in a large common area which is like a balkony above the woods. Ian succeeds in connecting people. Your private area is a very cosy individual house.

Lovely place. Amazing rooms, staff and vibe! The staff are outstanding and will help you with anything you need. Felipe gives amazing surf lessons and Adaly gives outstanding massages. Oh, and breakfast is SUPER yummy. I loved my stay and I hope I can come back soon!

I was extremely happy with my stay at buenavista, and would love to go back! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and I cant forget to mention that the food was great. Our room was exceptionally clean, spacious and the bed was big and super comfortable. The view from their deck was absolutely perfect, especially at night with the stars. Being steps away from Maderas beach and great restaurants like Hush were a plus!

We stayed in a bungalow, the experience was blissful, quiet spot and amazing view, really short walk to Hush the local sunset spot and playa Madera. Staff was super friendly and helpful, breakfast was so delicious and changed every day. Will definitely go back!

If you’re planning a surf trip with your friends or solo, this is the best spot for you, located walking distance to the world-class surf break Playa Maderas, the place is super clean and cozy, is fresh and quite at night, all of the staff will go above and beyond to assist you and help you arrange anything you need, and OMG the BREAKFAST🤤!!!

Where to start..... Arrive, unpack and relax. The place was perfect. It is a must stay for people looking to just show up and not have to worry about any logistics. There is a great selection of surf boards to use onsite. The meals were absolutely excellent, the breakfast was very healthy made with fresh locally sourced organic food and dinner each night was amazing and available for an additional fee. In all of our travels Johnny was the best host we have ever met. He was extremely helpful for local suggestions. And can help organize local surf trips if you decide you want to bag a few other surf spots on your trip. Honestly just hanging out with Johnny and having a conversation with coffee will be missed. He did a great job of making everyone feel very welcome and part of the Buena Vista tribe. The views from the main lodge deck were unbeatable. A perfect spot for early morning yoga sesh or sipping cocktails and watching the sun go down. The rooms were clean and very comfortable as well as private. We could go on and on reminiscing about how much we enjoyed our stay at Buena Vista. The only bad thing about staying at Buena Vista is how high it sets the bar for lodging options in Playa Maderas. Once you experience staying here you likely will not find another place that compares. if you make it to San Juan del Sur make sure to grab a Vietnamese coffee at the surf shop! This place has an amazing feeling of being home as you share breakfast, eat a family dinner at night and go out for surf as a group (if you like to). With the super pretty, well-designed private huts in the middle of the nature also gives you the opportunity to zoom-out and relax on your own. Perfect hosts who are passionate about the area, surfing, local crowd and nica-food. Their main goal is to make you feel even more at home! Also the girls in the kitchen doing the cooking are lovely, prepare amazing fresh food and are extremely helpful in case of dietary requirements or just craving something. The main activity during your stay is surfing, with the beach only a 8 minutes walk away (down, 12 up). Cool people in the beach: the best boy in town is Felipe. Lucky you, he is also a surf teacher and is happy to teach you during your stay! Imagine arriving home after your day of surf (and walk up the hill), watching the sun set from the deck, refresh in the outdoor showers and get ready for a cosy family dinner with the other guests, containing vegetables and good local food! I am already planning my visit to the place I called home during my trip!
