Hotel Riverside with Swimming pool

This hotel really was so much better than we expected. Staff were all very friendly, well-trained, and super helpful. They recommended and arranged all our safari activities too so our trip was completely stress-free. The location also blew our expectations as it was way better than what we saw in the pictures. It's located at a pretty quiet area with lots of little places in the hotel where you can sit back and relax. I really liked that you can walk all the way to the river from inside the hotel area.

Lovely hotel on the river, staff were friendly and knowledgeable, picked us up from the bus station and organised tours for us for safaris etc.

This is common especially in tourist areas, but there is a mark up on tours and transfers if you book through the hotel, if you're budget savvy shop around, if you don't mind paying a small amount more then the hotel was excellent at organising

Excellent rooms, excellent pools, excellent service

The staff is very nice, everybody cares that you feel good. The food eas very good. Location. Is perfect. The pictures are not so good, in real the hotel is much better. Best hotel we had in nepal. The pool is amazing, with very comfortable chairs/lounger. Pool is big and clean and with the 40 degrees we had very necessary. Directly on the river and close to the city. Would definitely come back there.

The shower in the room didn't work very well and it could have been a bit cleaner. But since the rest was so much better than expected we didn't care. If you ask, they offer to drop you off at the bus station - we found out too late but now we know;)

The pool was nice, since it was pretty hot when we were there, but the pool is not heated so be prepared for a cold dip. The grounds were really well maintained, lots of gardens and trees. A rhino wandered through the hotel grounds at dawn one morning we were there (both amazing and terrifying). The staff was very helpful and made sure our excursions were booked and our transportation was sorted out.

The bathroom was functional but could use some updating, and the screens on the windows had some holes that let mosquitoes in to our room. (There is air conditioning, so you could just leave the windows closed and be just fine, but my husband and I prefer fresh air at night so this was a detractor for us.)
