Hotel Residencial Alentejana

The host is extremely kind, considerate and accommodating. I actually felt like a guest, as opposed to just being the next person who gets to sleep there. It is also writhing equal walking distance of virtually every faculty of the university and the city centre.

The authentic feel which comes with the furnishing can sometimes be on the more rustic side, but it is more than made up for by the impeccable aesthetics.

The room was clean and met our expectations. Check-in was very efficient. Free parking in the street is plentiful right outside the property.

You can easily here other guests moving around the property in the foyer and other rooms.

The location was great, close to the hospital where I had some meetings, in walking distance to the university, and downtown, the property has an old charm, the host was kind to help when it was needed

There was no elevator in the building, so it was not easy with big suitcases. Some of the rooms had carpet, and there was a very unpleasant odor in them, I had to change my room when I arrived the first night

The hotel was nice very traditional. Our room was pleasant very clean but no kettle etc. Plenty of hot water and towels. People who have reviewed said there was a lot of noise but it was very peaceful when we stayed however it was weekend

The room was rather dark but I think that was down to all the dark wood The bathroom was clean but very tired. The code for the door didn’t work on our arrival but the lady on the ring doorbell was able to let us in.Also be aware the walk into town is downhill all the way so of course it’s uphill on the way back!!! The parking is on the street at the side of the property on a very steep hill

The atmosphere is very authentic, including the smell of the furniture. Would you say it's the rich Portugal of the 1950s? Absolutely enough for one night.

the use of hot water, urinating and the conversation of neighbours are only slightly filtered. I was most worried about the simple locks that are normally only used on room doors within a flat and forced me to carry my laptop and valuables with me all the time.

Clean sheets and towels. Close to the centre and easy to walk. Lovely old house. Good water pressure and plenty of hot water.

The first impression as you walked in the room was that it smelt like old people and we had to open the window to air the room. The bed was small and uncomfortable. It definitely needs a new mattress. Peeling veneer on doors, filthy weighing scales (just get rid of them), brown scale in the toilet, rust in the shower, shower doors falling apart, mould in the shower, no indication of hot and cold on the shower taps, toilet and sink too close together, very dated decor, main light switch hidden behind the cupboard, stained and frayed towels, towels too thin and small, it was dark because a bulb had blown and it was incredibly noisy anytime someone used the water…..

We really liked the traditional style of the hotel - felt like visiting friends or relatives in an old family mansion. Number one thing worth mentioning is cleaning! It was perfect. The location is good for walking in the park, dining out in several restaurants and it was not far from Alma shopping mall and the city centre.

There is nothing to improve. I do advise this hotel.

Everything was amazing not including the construction work outside. But since I wake up early it was not a problem

Would be great to have water and a kettle to make tea
