Charming Blue

Very nice rooms, and the pool and pool deck are very comfortable Staff was nice, especially the front desk gentleman who helped me get a local rental car for a much better rate then the airport.

Breakfast was a bit average and same every day, and things running out not replaced. Standard coffee is horrid, although staff will make a real coffee if you ask and they are there. This can be improved

The hotel is ideally located in Vila do Porto main street, making it very easy to go out for dinner and go explore the island. The staff is very friendly, and helpful - great stay!!!

Location was very central to accessing restaurants in town and for distance from airport. Did not have to walk far from hotel to access hiking routes along the coast and inland. Hotel staff were very friendly welcoming and helpful with tourist advice for the island and organising transfer taxis to and from airport. Hotel provided bikes for tours and the pool area was neat and clean non crowded and peaceful. Breakfast was plentiful choice each morning.

The pool was always clean and lovely to swim in. Our view through the two dormer sliding door patios to the hills was beautiful. Our front desk concierge José Santos spent much time with us answering any and all of our questions, sharing advice on maps that were provided to us, and was overall the kindest, sweetest, most articulate and helpful employee on the property. He made our stay as wonderful as it was!

When we had to use our pool towels after we checked out, the front staff employee Sofia made a disdainful look at us and scolded us for not leaving our towels on the floor in our room (that we had to check out of). She seriously chided us and then, in a huff, took the towels from us, and stormed away, to see if she could find a place (maybe the laundry room?) to put them. Sofia's attitude, facial expressions, and chiding put us off, which we found very unprofessional of her.
