Charming Blue

I would describe this as a mixed review because although there were good points, there are some downsides but it is difficult to tell whether this is because we came towards the end of the season or not. This hotel is in a good location in the main high street of the small town. To be fair you are limited with places to stay as it is so small. The actual hotel was clean and tidy and the room a good size with a comfy bed and good shower. The staff were also very nice and helpful. The hotel was quiet. The pool was also a good size and clean. The breakfast wasn't anything special but fine...Continental, toast, bread, yoghurts and fruit with coffee and tea. The hot food was only scrambled eggs and hot dog sausages.

Only a couple of small things ...I stayed here as a couple to do scuba diving. The breakfast does not start until 8am which is too late for divers. Unfortunately the earliest they could do was 7.45 and although they did offer to do a take away bag, this is obviously not as nice as sitting down for your coffee and breakfast. My other disappointment was that the place lacked any real character/atmosphere. During breakfast there were other people in the hotel eating but it was so quiet that it felt a little uncomfortable (appreciate this mat just be me) but a little bit of gentle background music for breakfast and even in the restaurant would have made it much nicer.

Parking is an issue

Quiet place, not a huge hotel, colonial arquitetura, tastefully refurbished. Aircon. Great location.

The room faced the front of the building so looking on to the main road - noisy if windows open. For a “4-star” hotel, having to pay for coffee or tea as no facilities in the room disappointing. Staff in breakfast buffet struggled to restock everything, so had to ask for many items every morning. Seems like hotel is saving on some essentials. No shower cap, and we had to use our shopping bag for bathroom bin liner - which remained in place for 3 days!

Guys, I'll just repeat my 2018/19 review. A great hotel, comfortable clean and great rooms, good view, good location, absolutely fantastic knowledgable and warm staff which reacted quickly to every whish, question problem. Also great laundry service. What can I tell you? Book it

the restaurant struggled a bit, my neighbors weren't easy but the staff took care of it.

Overall, the property is a successful transformation of a historic property, some of the stone features of which have been expertly preserved. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast offerings were fine for us.

These are not major concerns, but we note them nevertheless: room ventilation was inadequate (you cannot self-regulate the temperature or air flow with the wall-mounted control; we were told air circulation would occur at some unknown hours during the day and/or night, but never did as far as we could tell); since there was no window, the only way to get fresh air was to open the door to the communal balcony shared by 4 rooms- not ideal at night; the symphony of nearby barking dogs woke us up twice in 3 nights; the (small, non-boutique) shower struggled to produce hot water; the mini- refrigerator, enclosed in a badly-ventilated cabinet, produced more heat than cold; the take-away breakfast box prepared because we had an early flight, although a welcome gesture, was underwhelming (apple, a thin slice of processed ham and cheese between 2 slices of cardboard white bread and a glass of juice).
