Te Puia Hot Springs Hotel

Room was great

great for a short term stay

Te Puia is a tiny town (pretty much one street!) with a shop or two but if you plan to travel the East Coast between Whakatāne and Gisborne, it’s a great place to stop. The room was clean, has brand new air conditioning and comfortable beds. There is a communal fridge, which was handy for us. WiFi was sufficient and allowed us to stream a show without issue. The host was welcoming and had a very cute puppy who was super friendly. It is clear there has been some work done and more to go but we were amongst a few guests the night we stayed and all were happy with their visit. We have read some reviews that are just not fair, in a small town at a three star level, it met those expectations. We paid $99- an absolute bargain

Not that we didn’t like it but with further growth and time, maybe a continental breakfast bar that is set up for people to help themselves- coffee, tee, pastries, toast would work well. Otherwise it is clear you are working to slowly and surely improve the hotel- thanks for your courtesy

Location is ideal on State highway 35.

Sheets and towels were clean but not the carpet. No towel rail or place to put towels in the bathroom. The place definitely needs to be majorly overhauled.

Met our needs Great stay thanku

A couple of rooms were booked for our stay. The rooms were old but clean and the beds were very comfortable. The towels were large and fluffy. Great after a soak in the hot pool. The room with a shower in, was clean.

It is a hotel, so it was a little noisy from the hotel downstairs. There was no accommodation on ground floor for a person using crutches

The bar next door is privately run. But was a lot of fun. The hotel is slowly being restored. The beds were comfy.
