Very safe and welcoming. Room neat and clean. Fresh salad picked from the garden was delicious.

I chose to be in Urubamba because it is a real place not totally transformed by tourism but with access to so much that makes the Inca valley special including the indigenous people for whom it is still home. If you want an authentic sense of place then Mama Green is a good choice.

"Place needs to be a whole lot cheaper or a whole lot better."

It’s almost cheap but not cheap enough

Check in was terrible. The promised parking options were not available which meant I had to leave my hired bike on the street. In the morning I woke to find someone had turned the headlights on nearly drained the battery. I waited nearly 30 minutes waiting to check in when I was finally allowed in the man wouldn’t let me use the toilet despite telling him I was about to go in my pants. When someone else finally turned up I was allowed to use a toilet that seemed to have a floor covered in urine and a toilet seat with faeces all over it. The bed was terrible and seemed like it was broken in the middle, I barely slept a couple of hours. In the morning the promised included breakfast was not available, the closest thing was a stove with dirty pots and pans, no coffee, no hot water no food. I sent them a message asking them to check out, no one seems to acknowledge my existence until I was on my bike and ready to leave and they wanted to know where the money was.

Really nice ambience with courtyard and lots of plants. Large, comfortable, clean rooms. Owner Darghen was very helpful, recommended me a wonderful hike that I wouldn’t have otherwise known about and helped me find a mototaxi to take me to the trailhead. Felt really cosy and homey. A bit far from the centre of town but its quite nice walking through Urubamba and getting a sense of everyday life in Peru - I did take a wrong turn walking back one evening and found myself on a back road with no street lights, but this was my own fault - you can easily get moto taxis to and from the centre of town for a few pesos. Great place to base yourself if you want to spend some time properly exploring the Sacred Valley beyond the quick stops on a day trip from Cusco.

Having to walk outside and upstairs to get to the bathrooms at night when it was cold wasn’t my favourite, and the door of one of the shared bathrooms was difficult to open and close as it always caught against the floor outside.

The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, easy transfer to the centre with tuc tucs, delicious breakfast with vegetables from the owner’s garden. The owner was very friendly and shared many tips about sacred valley trails as well as the local history.

Beautiful spot about 7 min away from the Plaza de Armas via Tuk Tuk. Lots of plants around, comfy bed, *beautiful* breakfast, cute cat :), great hospitality. I would definitely consider staying here again when I come back to Urubamba. Also, the neighborhood is so beautiful. It was great just to walk around and have such gorgeous mountain views. There's also a couple small convenience stores nearby for water, snacks, and other necessities.
