Property is run down. Our doorframe was splintered and looked as if someone had kicked the door down, so I felt unsafe. “Balcony room with lake view” was chairs on a second floor walkway — not a balcony. Lake view was a small glimpse through some trees. The shower and toilet were child-sized. (I am 5’2” and I had to practically kneel to shower.) I would not stay here again.
The room and bedding were clean...that is the extent of the positive. The cars on the road sounded like they were driving through the room all night due to the door having about a half inch gap on top and locking side. There is a pool & hot tub but everyone is in the hot tub because the pool is cold and cloudy. The Lake Michigan access across the road was a better option. There is no coffee available, except a packet coffee with styrofoam cup and plastic lid to microwave (it would melt) in the room. The gas stations near do not open early to get your own, nor the cafe next door (7a). I'd suggest you get coffee from a station the night before and microwave it in whatever cup they provide. Strange stay but clean rooms that need updating.
Room was rustic but clean, staff was quick and to the point but otherwise polite. Place could use some updating but overall would stay again.
Pros: friendly staff, spacious room. Cons: room needs repair and updating, bugs all around bathroom window, only 2 pillows per bed, only 1 USB port and not next to bed, air conditioner far from beds so essentially ineffective. Don’t recommend.
It was ok for a night stop while traveling
Would likely stay again. Great beach across the road, easy to get to. Poor coffee quality in the room and the shower was very small. Otherwise a pleasant stay, even though we were only there one night.
The motel is a very nice place and is right on Lake Michigan and it has its own private beach across the road from the hotel. The pool and hot tub were nice. Breakfast is not included but there is a very nice little restaurant next door and the motel offers a discount coupon. Lots to see and do in the area.
Liked being able to go to private beach area on Lake Michigan. Liked being able to walk over to a place for dinner
The roon smelled really wierd. Everything seemed out dated.
