Casa 1800 Cerro Verde

The views of the volcano from the room are stupendous, and of course the proximity to it, the lake, and all the wonderful hiking made this an excellent place to stay! The room was excellent, comfortable, and very nice to stay in.

Lack of communication of details. The hotel is in a park who's gates close at 9pm and while the calls and messages from the hotel encouraged we drive quickly, there was no mention we would be barred from entering if we passed a certain time. Similarly, we missed the tour because it started at 9am - a detail the staff (and the tours advertisements) neglected to mention.

Spectacular view and location. Rooms were clean and beautiful! Highly recommend the volcano view room. Restaurant is basic but the view is also worth the trip!

I loved everything about the location. The service at the location was great. The view was fantastic. Great variety of food and drinks. I would recommend anyone I know to go.

Water temperature for the shower was on the cold side.

Beautiful hotel, architecture, and view over the volcano. The rooms are amazing. And the staff is attentive.

For the cost we expected a nice and comfortable stay - we did not get one. The view was nice but that is not necessarily to the merit of the hotel - a similar view can be seen from other viewpoints in the area.

We did not have hot water (33 degrees Celsius and told by staff it cannot be increased further, by design - nothing is broken, nothing can be adjusted). The hotel lacks any lobby or bar, or a general area for hanging out except the very cold rooms. The fireplace, advertised, is only for decoration and cannot be used. The rooms are new and not very well designed (eg no bedside lamps, lights in different levels of warmth - cold & warm, no rugs to make the floor more comfortable. Random decor. The hotel restaurant feels more like a huge dining hall with very slow service, also closing at 8:30pm - forget about a drink after dinner. The breakfast was nice but starts late and is brought slowly despite no crowds. For a mountain hut such experience would be fine, but it’s absolutely not acceptable for a boutique hotel costing nearly 300usd per night. I am very much interested in seeking a refund.
