SW Hotel

I always stay at SW hotel. I find it comfortable, clean and very friendly. Most of all I feel safe. I travel alone, I’m an older woman and the personal touch is priceless. The staff knows who I am. Not just anyone can walk in and pass the desk. If the staff member on duty does not know you, they will stop you and inquire if you are a guest. I do not mind this at all.

I would like a microwave. But that is such a little thing compared to all else it barely shows up on the scale. The refrigerator is always quite adequate. Food is so available that a microwave is unnecessary.

Very, very clean! Staff are very hospitable! Room comfortable. Great location near great food!

Great location, with many cafes and restaurants just nearby. Comfortable and attractive room.

No breakfast - but there are plenty of cafes nearby.

- Location is centralized and close to public transit -- Muni bus stop is closeby. - Staff was courteous and helpful.

- Extremely noisy at night. Our room was right next to the street and there was noise from the nearby bars and street till 5am in the morning. We got very little sleep because of this. - Tons of bars and adult clubs in the area. - They charged us extra for parking and this was not mentioned in the listing.

The location of this hotel is absolutely perfect. Right on the border between North Beach, Broadway, and Chinatown. Lots and lots to do all within ten minutes walking distance!

The street noise from Broadway can be overwhelming at times. After one night in a room facing Broadway we asked for and got a room which faced the interior courtyard of the hotel. Be sure to request a room which does not face either Grant Avenue nor Broadway; they are the quietest.

The location was ideal for all the trips I had booked. A short walk to buses or trams to get around the city.

The room looked a little dated, but it wasn't an issue. It was clean and the bed was comfortable.

The hotel is situated adjacent to Chinatown, which makes it a perfect stepping off point to enjoy all that neighborhood has to offer. Additionally, it is a moderate twenty minute stroll to Fisherman's Wharf, another San Francisco landmark. The room is well appointed with (just about) everything you need. The whole property has an understated elegance to it with a distinct Chinese vibe.

The bed was the only real disappointment. It was very hard and uncomfortable. Luckily, we were too tired to complain about it. The room did not have a microwave of coffee maker, which would have been nice.
