Lala lodge Pemba Zanzibar

The best part about this stay is the host Dennis. He makes you feel at home. His wife cooks amazing food. He looks after you. He makes his place feel like home. His restaurant deck is a phenomenal place to chill out, eat amazing food and have amazing views of the ocean all while meeting travelers usually of the same mindset.

The bed was a little hard. But some may prefer this. Power goes out but it's Africa so no real complaints. If you are looking for a fancy accommodation and need for an example a hair dryer and all the luxuries this may not be for you lol. But overall it was one of our best experiences in Africa on a month tour.

The deck

Down to earth venue, budget lodge but the bed was good and clean. Great communal area overlooking the ocean, decent food and amazing atmosphere. Owner goes a long way to help you organizing your stay. I really enjoyed staying here.

Bathroom was functional but could use a make over.

The location is amazing! The owner is full of ideas about activities on the island (hidden gems included) and can organize everything. The best food on Pemba!!! I felt like vip and local at the same time which made me fall in love with Pemba.

No complaints.

Denis was a great host and able to help set up transport and activities. Perfect location to watch the fish boats come and unload their catch from the waterfront open deck. Wonderful local dishes for dinner ($10). Duper fun local kids.
