The staff was very warm,and the location is the best

No internet at our bungalow ,the electricity was not ok,the pressure of water not enough,no hot water,towels whit stains and not very clean

The houses are in a beautiful location, on top of the cliff, with a beautiful view of the ocean. But it is important to know that there is no direct access to the water from the houses. You have to walk down to the bay between the rocks. You can only swim at only high tide, because the coast is rocky and full of sea urchins. There is no large white sandy beach at this accommodation. The staff was very kind and helpful. The accommodation was very flexible, they allowed a very early check-in, I was able to occupy our house at 6 am. And when we left, because we also had a very early departure, they packed us food instead of breakfast. The food was good (but there wasn't a lot of variety on the menu, and it was the same every day, and in many cases even what was on the menu wasn't available)

There was a power outage every night, and it's okay, this is Africa, but elsewhere they solve it with generators.

The most amazing views and it was so special to be close to the secret beach so we could visit at any time of day or night when the day visitors were not around. The staff were lovely and the loungers on the balcony got a great sea breeze. The tea and coffee on the room were good and the only place I experienced that had a good size coffee mug!! Staff were exceptional.

As others have said, this site is VERY rural and a long way from any town. There are island wide problems with power (I agree with not having a generator in this conservation area!) and the buildings are cleverly designed to maximise the sea breeze at night. But with the breeze also comes the insects. There is a mosquito net on the bed and a sheet for cover plus insect spray. However the views in the morning are worth it if you can manage this well..

Desværre var opholdet på Eden Rock Hotel det dårligste hotelophold, vi nogensinde har haft. Hotellet fremstår stærkt nedslidt og mangelfuldt vedligeholdt. Madrasserne var slidte, skjoldede og direkte ulækre. Hovedpuderne lugtede kraftigt af gammel, sur sved, og sengetøjet, som engang må have været hvidt, var nu gulligt og så ikke rent ud. Myggenettet over sengen havde store huller og fungerede derfor ikke efter hensigten. Den sidste morgen vågnede jeg desuden ved, at en stor kakerlak kravlede rundt på myggenettet over sengen – en meget ubehagelig oplevelse. Allerede ved check-in i hotellets bar var førstehåndsindtrykket meget dårligt: Flere katte lå og sad på bardisken, og én af dem sad direkte med bagdelen i sugerørene, som efterfølgende blev brugt i vores velkomstdrink. På ankomstdagen havde der været kraftig regn, og elektriciteten fungerede ikke. Efter gentagne forespørgsler blev der tilkaldt en lokal “håndværker”, som forsøgte at løse problemet ved at fjerne et relæ på et anlæg, der tydeligvis havde fået vand – en løsning, der virkede direkte farlig og udgjorde en potentiel brandrisiko. Hotellets menukort var ekstremt begrænset og samtidig meget dyrt. Baren var desuden udsolgt af helt basale varer som tonic og vand i større flasker. Sikkerheden på værelserne var også stærkt bekymrende: På ét værelse var der et stort hul i altandækket, resten af gulvbrædderne var rådne, og den ene altandør var ved at falde ud.

Katastrophal und unhygienisch. Große Kakerlaken im Zimmer an jeder Ecke, Geckos an Kommoden und Ameisen auf den Gardinen! Sehe dreckige Zimmer ( Bettwäsche ) und winzige, unbequeme Betten. Das Wasser läuft kaum, Duschen ist kaum möglich. Nach der zweiten Nacht und Übelkeit war ich gezwungen auszuschlecken. Der Inhaber des Hotels ist völlig desinteressiert und in keiner Weise lösungsorientiert. Selbst Booking konnte ihn nicht erreichen. Beim Frühstück herrschen furchtbarer hygienischer Zustand: Fliegen und Katzen liegen direkt auf der Theke zwischen den Früchten, die anschließend Gästen serviert werden. Nach jeder Mahlzeit und sogar Getränken hatte ich starke Bauchschmerzen. Die Lage mag ruhig sein, ist aber komplett abgelegen und vom normalen Leben abgeschnitten. Für mich, Absolut nicht empfehlenswert Finger weg.

The Rock and the beach around it is magical. The room was really spacey and the private outdoor area was also huge! The view from the room, the terrace or the restaurant is amazing.

The food qas unfortunately not very good. And there are not so many alternstives. I got sick from bad seafood on the first night. There are a couple of restaurants nearby but please note that this is located in a very remote place. It is a 30 minute drive to the nearest Town. So you are kind of stuck there. That can be a nice thing but when it comes to food, it means you don't have that many options. For this reason alone I'd say that three or four days is enough unless you book trips away from the resort and eat somewhere else. The breakfast was the best meal of the day. Pancakes, butter, bread, eggs and fresh fruit amd juice. But the dinners were not very good unfortunately. The lock on my door was broken so in reality in didn't lock. I reported this several times but they didn't fix it. As a female solo traveller this made me feel a bit anxious at night. Some of the Masai sales people were a bit intense. I looked at some of the things they were selling and later a hotel employee showed up at my room with that item for me to buy. That felt a little invading as I was just coming out of the shower and didn't expect to see anyone.

Magnifique bungalow surplombant la plage "secrete" de Mtende, avec une douche / Salle d'eau exterieure, arborée et privative. il faut repasser un petit passage exterieur pour aller sur la partie commune de l'hotel (resto, bar, terrasse) mais ca contribue au charme de l'endroit. Passé 16h ceux qui viennent pour la plage sont tous partis et on peut savourer la beauté epoustouflante des lieux en toute quiétude

le choix de la carte du restaurant est tres restreint mais il y a une qqs alternatives a proximité
