The Nest Drakensberg Mountain Resort Hotel

Our meals was well prepared and presented with good portions. The waitress had organized a vegetarian breakfast on our request on Monday which we enjoyed. The room was good however it did have a damp smell ( not sure if it was due to the rains)

The pathway was not quite lit up to our room , as its quite dark after supper. We couldn't connect to the Wifi from our room.

Everything ambience and location, exceptional view, excellent staff, lovely food and just experience was 💯 percent. Christmas lunch, staff work exceptionally hard to make our experience and stay out of this world.

We didn't like leaving we felt very at home

Delicious dinner. The room was neat and clean.

The location and the gardens. The bowling greens and the owners. Our waitresses and barman. Met very nice patrons.

Grumpy check in. Had a twin room not double. Had to request replacement items in the room eg coffee. Shower gel not replaced 3 days in succession. No non-slip mat in a bath shower. Taps in bath/shower difficult to operate. Items not on our breakfast table a few times. We were the longest staying guests when xmas lunch happened but we were “forgotten” from the guest list and had to be “accommodated” with no menu and no personalisation. Food was nice initially and then deteriorated especially breakfast. Simple items like tissues or hairdryer not supplied. Greens were not playable until the last two days.

No WiFi in the rooms

Staff was friendly. Rooms were clean. Good activities. Nice food and great kids activity schedule. The ladies that were taking care of the kids really liked their job and well done to them for doing a great job👏 . The morning and afternoon tea was such a good idea, I enjoyed the tea with very nice treats 😋 4 course dinner was nice though some food portions were small, the lamb shank was too little but the oxtail was very nice and fair portion on the plate. Overall it's a very good place and I highly recommend this place for families with kids, very good schedule is in place for kids to enjoy.

Everything was great just few suggestions 1. Walk way is dark during dinner time, I had to use my phone light coming from room 62. Garden lights will make some difference. 2. Consider 2 serving stations for Christmas lunch to prevent long queue. Also consider some curry or stew like mutton or lamb stew on the menu, having only roasts make the lunch a bit dry. I did miss the roast potatoes or butternut from the starch menu.

Dinner is good and tea time cake is always good
