The location is exceptional and beautiful Breakfast was exceptional, with all fresh ingredients and very friendly and helpful staff. The accomodation is very comfortable.

On arrival we did not have anyone to receive us or a notice at the reception (it was around 6pm - so a bit late I know), a notice on who to contact on the door would be nice.

The cottage had everything we needed for our stay . It was neat and clean and good value for money . It was as described . Beautiful view of the mountains and sunset was spectacular

It was right next to the restaurant which is understandably a busy location , so it does not allow for much privacy for those in the cottages .

The place is stunningly located and the view is absolutely amazing with beautiful cottages. It is perfectly located if you are planning to cross the Swartberg Pass. Their roosterkoek is tasty.

We were greeted by a rather dour guy. Our view at the picnic table outside was spoiled by a junkyard off to the left. Inside the cottage we had an oven but no oven proof dish. We also did not have any mittens. Smoke bellowed into the living area from the indoor braai and we had to open the door to ventilate. Cutlery had old food on and some were broken. The handle on the kettle is broken and swings left to right when you try and lift it. We had to tighten it. Two burners on the stove is broken. The bedside lamp in the one room had no switch and was completely broken and no place to plug it in in any case. Why it was placed there we have no idea. Either replace it or just throw it away. Only one room had an electric blanket and there were not enough blankets for the cold night. The one room has a door leading to the outside and the lock was broken. We had to improvise security measures for the night. There is no floor towel available to place on the floor and we had to use the hand towels to dry up the floor after a shower. There was a rooster right next to us in this junkyard that starter crowing at 3am and only stopped at 6:20 am. We were without running water from 10pm till 7am. The generator they had to use for the functions during the evening and early the morning to get the water running was very noisy and disrupted the serene atmosphere we were expecting.

The best views on the Swartberg. Never missed a TV with such a view. The most beautiful sunset. Marietjie, our host, was very helpful and went out of her way to make us comfortable and to organize my dad's 80th birthday celebration.

The firewood was wet.
