Katikies Santorini - Pelagos House - The Leading Hotels Of The World

The staff and amenities make this hotel a truly memorable stay. We loved the views, the made-to-order complementary breakfast every morning, the pools, and of course, the best view in Oia! The elevator was a HUGE bonus as well. The staff is extremely attentive and accommodating. A perfect spot for our first trip to Santorini and would highly recommend.

The hotel is perfectly positioned in Santorini, you could not ask for a better location. The views are absolutely stunning from the hotel, especially the area by the pool, it is very picturesque. The pools are lovely - they probably have the best views in the world. The hotel is peaceful and beautiful white buildings cascading down the hill.

A few suggestions for simple improvements that should be made to easily improve guest experience: Water: At the pool, drinking water is not provided free of charge. The first day we arrived we went to the pool and asked for water (expecting it to be free) however they charge 8 euro per bottle. It’s very hot in Santorini and you need lots of water so we went and bought bottles from the shop as they only cost 1 euro. The next day we came back to the pool with our shop water bottles and requested for glasses to use and the staff refused to give us glasses and told us we were not allowed to drink water from outside the hotel and that we could not to have our ‘shop’ water bottle there. We found this hotel policy and service upsetting and appalling. Fair enough if we were bringing in alcohol or food but it was water - a basic human right! If Katikies is not offering complimentary water and charging a premium on their water to make money (which is exactly what they are doing) you can’t expect guests to buy the hotel water. At the price of the hotel rooms water should be complimentary, and if they can’t offer that, the price of the water should be the same as the shop. For me this policy represents poor service and value for money- it’s definitely not putting the guests needs first. This is policy is purely about money making for Katikies - very disappointing. Towels: The room towels (bath/ hand) were terrible quality- they were old and worn and grey in colour, more like rags then towels. Privacy: Staff are constantly walking past rooms early in the morning, peering in to check if guests are in there or not so that they can service the rooms. We found this weird at a 5 star hotel that’s meant to be a honeymoon destination- you expect top notch privacy. Tips: We had a few staff ask for tips - I don’t think this is normal in Greece when you are paying a premium at a 5 star hotel.

The view, the breakfast, the hotel, the staff... I mean overall it was a great experience and a place to stay and would recommend it for people that want to stay in one of the best places with a view in Santorini.

Setting is beautiful but breakfast was a bit disappointing although the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and were trying their best to make sure our stay was good
