Soy Local Barú

Great location in front of the beach, this area of the beach was not super crowded. The staff was amazing with all our requests for activities and the food was delicious.

Usually there's no mobile service and no wifi available in this area so forget internet. Watch out while arriving and leaving for overpriced taxis and people that ask offer to carry your luggage. If you don't get to a price 50% less than what they told you initially don't accept.

Beachfront

They had an empty room on 2nd floor but kept it empty (checked early morning next day), even though I had 2 nights bookings with them and asked for a 2nd floor. I would assume for 60$ you can accommodate clients wishes if you have available room!

Very friendly and helpful staff nicely located but be aware that if you hire a cab, you will have to walk at least 15 minutes.

The food is nice, but it takes a long time to be ready. Ask how long is going to take before ordering.

Chill environment in front of the beach. Good music, good piñas coladas.

Too much garbage behind the facilities, not only for this stay but generally in the area. Sometimes there was a gasoline smell from a generator nearby.

Beachfront location, you can see the sea from the room. The staff was great, very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was very good as well.

The site's location was incorrect in Google Maps and we had to ask around for directions. Local people see you're a tourist and they try to scam you or even threaten you for money.

The fresh fish meal was good. One of the two cooks was very friendly. One of the two owners was friendly and supportive.

Do not go there if you dont like crowded places. There is barely any beach and just 100s hotels next to each other. All playing loud music. The backyards are junkyards. Bad smell. The breakfast area is stinky and loud due to a running Diesel generator. Very overpriced for what is offers. Arriving by car is a nightmare. Very very overcrowded parking. Luggage has to be transported by a carrier. Communication with hotel to organize such a carrier was lacking. Would not go there again.
