Valea Verde Retreat Transilvania

Nice atmosphere in the restaurant and good food.

We stayed two nights in Valea Verde, and it was our third or fourth visit there. It was cold in the first evening. We managed to start the fire in the stove thanks to the wood left for fire, however it was still quite cold in the rooms and bathrooms. Sauna was closed to Christmas cleaning. The food was good, but in small and very small portions.

It is an amazing oasis in the heart of Transylvania! The accommodations are perfect, and the food is world class! Don’t miss coming here if you are in the area!

dream and pitoresque location, friendly staff, rustic and clean room and bathroom, real rural lifestyle experience. zen like experience because of landscapes and quiet: only birdsong, dogs barking and cows mooing, cowbells... large garden with pond, darts, ping pong, trampoline, hammock to chill and lounge.

shower in cund cottage ap. 1 was not ok, it alternates every 60 secs between freezing cold and burning hot, it's almost imposible to use. no a la carte menu at their restaurant which is pretty remote as you won't find another within 60 km. you have a fixed menu with 1 option to choose each from soup, starter, 2 main courses and desert each day, which is different every day. (probably because they favor groups of people instead of couples). we only ate once for dinner, food was very fancy, each course has a glass of vine included, even the desert. quality is exquisite, but portion is minuscule, i.e. ravioli with truffles has real shredded truffles, but 3 raviolis, more like a tasting experience than a real meal. breakfast was really nice 1 day and average the other 3 mornings: asked for omlette and always received undercooked and runny scrambled eggs, even after asking. artizanal mini breads were wonderful. 1 day even had home made bread with nuts, which with honey was absolutely fabulous. vegetarian options are scarce, vegan are missing entirely, only eggplant salad and zakuska spread, cheese, (matured with herbs was fabulous), some pepper and tomato.

Very rustic and remote. Good for taking a break from the city life.

Nearly impossible to shower, the electric water heater was sending 10 seconds of cold water, 10 of extremely hot water. Not having signal inside of the house in case of emergency, you need to go outside the property to call or text.
