W1 Ella

Beautiful place in green nature in a very peaceful area. Delicious breakfast, friendly atmosphere, very big, clean rooms with comfortable bathroom. Ella is very nice but loudly and full of tourist places. It was good to come back by tuk tuk to the end of Ella and have a rest listening to the birds 😀

I I recently had the privilege of staying at this incredibly lovely and peaceful property. We stayed at W1 Ella for two nights, and it was an absolute delight. The manager and the other staff were extremely humble and kind. The food was both sumptuous and healthy. I’d definitely recommend this place to everyone visiting Ella. 🌺 Love from India 🇮🇳

The road to the location is a bit difficult , but it’s safe and worth the effort. Tuk-tuks are a good option, but cars and taxis may have trouble due to road conditions. We experienced this firsthand when our car got stuck because the road was blocked by rain. Thankfully, a staff member came to help us reach our destination. Despite this inconvenience, the place is definitely worth it."

Lahiru and the whole team do a great job! They were really polite, friendly and always up for a little chat. The accommodation itself is modern and stylish. Lots of plants decorate the entire terrace. Fresh fruit, juice, eggs and plenty of bread are served for breakfast every morning. The absolute highlight is the rice and curry! It was the biggest and tastiest we ate on our entire trip (and we had a lot!). We also really liked the little detail that the room is prepared with a pleasant scent before the guests arrive. Overall, a huge recommendation!

Amazing views because the place is a bit at the end of town! A really nice breakfast with those views is the perfect start of the day.

Because it is a bit out of town you have to take a smaller bumpy road, but totally worth it.

Staff were excellent - tried to make the room comfortable for us to stay in but it was dirty, too hard to access from the main road

The staff here were literally the most kind people we encountered in Sri Lanka. So helpful and welcoming. They cooked us a delicious simple dinner, and made sure we had everything we needed. Very lovely. The bathroom was large and recently renovated, however the room itself was fairly dated, and the carpeted floor was a bit smelly. The drive to make it to the hotel was quite narrow and scary, so we chose to walk the last bit as it was rainy and slippery. The view upon arrival was breathtaking. We left early the next morning, and they provided us hot tea and a 'to-go' breakfast. They were also extremely helpful in helping us get our train tickets (which we had not bought in advance). I would stay there again as the staff and view compensated for the death drive and smelly carpet :)

Lovely stay at W1 Ella, hosts were fantastic and very accommodating. The views from the veranda were stunning too! Very comfy beds and good facilities. Also huge breakfasts! You can walk to Ella Rock from here, along the train track and also into town. Lots of bars, restaurants etc close by, around a 15-20 minute walk. Make sure you have more than just flip flops with you. Beware, the road leading up to the hotel is not suitable for any cars. You can rent mopeds or a tuk tuk will take you up there but definitely don’t drive a car!

This hotel is cash only when paying at the end. Also watch out for the mosquitos!

amazing stay here! the family is so lovely and helpful! the food was amazing, the rooms really good as well as the best showers during our 3 month stay in sri lanka. We only stayed two nights, but could have spend more time there easily. it was really quiet there and not in the busy center of ella

the road to get there is pretty rough and you need to be to comfortable with driving a scooter on bumpy roads. the tuk tuk go there though. just a bumpy ride
