Really nice place. Enjoyed the ambience and wish we could have stayed longer

we only spent a very short time in the hotel, which made the experience all the more intense. We haven't received such a warm welcome from the owner and his colleagues for a long time, they very willingly prepared an excellent dinner for us, even though we arrived later, they were getting up for our early breakfast request. kind, lovely gentlemen, a cozy hotel set in an extremely beautiful location. next time we will definitely plan a longer stay with many treks to the picturesque mountain range. thank you from the bottom of our hearts

Great views, friendly staff and great value for money

Our original room smelt a bit musty but we moved to the family room which was much nicer. It is a decent tuk tuk drive away from the centre of town.

Absence of a fan Ok

Great stay at W1 Ella. Pushpak and the boys were incredible. They were happy to do laundry, made us dinner one night and served a massive breakfast each morning. The location is amazing, in the middle of the tropical forest next to a waterfall, very secluded with access from the rail track. The walk into town along the railroad is one of the most beautiful we have ever done. Reaching the hotel from the railroad is a steep climb down rocks so you need to be careful, but it adds to the charm. Reaching the hotel by tuk tuk is an adventure, but all of the drivers we had expertly navigated the tiny roads and dirt paths. There are peacocks roosting in the trees outside the hotel as well as a couple of neighbourhood eagles, which we adored. The view from the hotel is magnificent. Definitely recommend for anyone searching for a tropical paradise! Great wifi as well.

Because of the location the humidity is very high which means the hotel is a bit damp, but this can't really be helped and is similar anywhere up high in Ella.

In a remote area great for relaxing , scenic location , Staff are exceptional and lovely tasty food !!

Very difficult to get to the location , narrow roads meant for only one vehicle at a time !! Furnishing is very poor , Damp towels and sheets , room has pesticide smell , carpet is old , no Fan in the room ( stuffy ) and bathroom is very inconvenient, wet and cold .

You have to take on a dirt road from Ella to get to the house (10 min ride). The house is located at the very end of that road, on the hillside looking over the valley straight into sunrise. It is absolutely fantastic. The views from the house are spectacular, the place is tranquillient, and the house is beautiful, it just fits in perfectly in to the surroundings. In the morning we were woken up by birds singing, and the slight rain just felt as if you are listening to a rainfirest soundtrack on Spotify. When we arrived, the hosts (father and son) greeted us with some welcome drinks. In the morning they prepared us breakfast - a fruit bowl and omlette, with fresh fruit juice and coffee. They are absolutely lovely, I wish you all the best! The rooms were very clean, the beds are very comfy. Hot water in the shower. The views from the rooms are spectacular. All an all, an amazing experience and we wish we had stayed there longer.

The only (slight) negative is the road to the house. Its a dirt road, and in certain areas a bit hard to drive through, especially if you arrive with a minibus. Although, it is worth the effort!!! Tuk-tuks managed the trip fine when we were going to the city.
