Hotel Sonnenhof

We stayed for 1 night on our way to Austria. It's not far off the route and close to the Luxembourg border at Schengen Lovely place to stay, nice room and comfortable bed. The breakfast was plentiful and very good coffee. We also ate in the restaurant in the evening. The menu was varied with some good vegetarian options. The food was fabulous. We will definitely add it to our list of places to stay.

We so enjoyed our second visit to Hotel Sonnenhof. We use this hotel as an overnight rest stop on our journey to visit family in Munich, but have come away both times wanting to stay longer. The bedroom accommodation has been perfect for an overnight, great comfortable beds, perfect bathroom and shower, with many small touches, including kettle, slippers, etc. The meals (evening and breakfast) have been very good, and we particularly enjoyed the trout for dinner, a local speciality (the hotel is close to the Moselle). We enjoyed the inexpensive local wine, and found the staff willing to help, and very friendly. The staff in the restaurant were particularly pleasant and efficient. The area does look good for walking and visiting, so maybe we will stay longer next time……

Close to the French border, nice environment. Perfect restaurant, really delicious food. Breakfast is served since 6:30, good for business travelers. The minor point is the coffee quality. Room was big, clean. Bathroom was perfect, shower and water pressure very good without any compromises. Heated floor in the bathroom eventhough a little bit cold in the room.

The owner is absolutely nice!!! So very much helpful and kind!!! The hotel itself is super cute and the restaurant and surround area is simply beautiful!!! The house wine is a MUST try!! Couldn't recomend enough!!

We used the hotel to break up a drive to southern Germany and Austria for only one night It was fantastic and can't wait to stay here again. The staff were friendly and efficient. The hotel is spotless, the room large and comfortable. We pre-booked half board not realizing the hotel had a superb restaurant that seems to attract people from the entire area. The half board basis meant we could not select from the menu, but we were not dissapointed. The starter, main course and dessert were excellent. The buffet breakfast was good. The hotel is easily reached from the motorway. However, the entire area beautiful having the stunning Mosel, vineyards, orchards etc. The Saar meander is just down the road and can be view from a viewing platform (10 euros) or from the hillside (free).

Fantastic for a night stop. We’ve stayed there on 3 occasions now. Modern, bright, clean and comfortable. Parking at the door. Lovely owner who speaks English and a nice restaurant with a garden terrace.

Only a one night stop over and the weather was terrible so couldn't take advantage of the grounds. I found this to be a really good find, very nicely furnished, good sized room, good wifi, good breakfast - couldn't take advantage of the restaurant - Monday its closed, but it was all set out and looked very classy, just like the Hotel side. This super Hotel is on my list of go back again places.

A real gem of a find in a lovely rural position. We stayed on our way to Munich in September and on our return two weeks later, where we were greeted like regular guests! The rooms were large and well furnished both had showers and large bathrooms and tea and coffee making facilities. Beds very comfortable and large, all very quiet at night. The restaurant for dinner was excellent and it was obvious on both nights that it had a good local reputation, being full, so we booked a table when we checked in. The food, wine and beers were excellent with good comprehensive menu, all in German so take the dictionary if your German is not up to it! Breakfast was excellent with a selection of hot a cold with meats, cheese, bread fresh fruit, pastries and cereal.

Absolutely the best hotel in this area with very friendly personal, I felt like home. And really great restaurant downstairs, enjoyed it :) go for beef carpaccio and rear steak with fresh salad. If one day I'll pass there again will definitely eat at this place.

A cozy hotel with friendly staff. We arrived on Monday (restaurant closed) but to our surprise the restaurant was open for hotel quests and fortunately so, because the food was very good for reasonably priced.
