Rock sand Resort

Stayed here for around 10 nights,6th time in Ko Chang but 1st time I have ever found this hidden gem.The owner Choy and his daughter Aisla have an amazing resort with the best ocean views iv seen on Ko Chang.I felt like I was waking up in paradise every morning.All the staff are really friendly,always helpful with a smile on they're faces.Rooms and food(which was delicious)are very reasonably priced,perfect location at the far end of Whitesands beach as you come in from ferry port.Really enjoyed having a drink with Choy any time of the day or night in what can only be described as paradise.Its taken me 12 years to find this place but was worth the wait.See yous next time 😎 🙏

We stayed 8 nights in a nice room with two bedrooms and a seaview. The AC was quite bad and noicy. We complained a couple of times and it was then fixed right away. The resort is built on to a rock right by the beach with a fantastic view. They lend sunchairs which we carried 50 meters to really nice shade under a big chestnut tree. We had lunch and drinks at a lovely beach bar/restaurant, run by a Thai couple, almost every day! The breakfast was not a buffé but you could choose between any kind of egg or youghurt with fresh fruit. It was very good! We were very satisfied with our stay at Rock Sand. Now to the New Year's Eve dinner for 999 Bath that was organized by the resort. It sounded expensive but it would include welcome drink, Thai food, meat, seafood, Italian, dessert and champagne at 12 o'clock. The tables was nicely decorated with funny hats etc but otherwise it was a big dissapointment! The guests consisted of 95% drunken Swedes and the so called dinner became a big drinking party! The welcome drink was some kind of fruitjuice and we couldnt tell if there was alcohol or not! The Italian part of the buffé was some salami and smoked ham (!) which didnt last for everyone. We would have expected some pasta Bolognese etc. The seafood was some grilled shrimps which came out when everyone allready had eaten! The rest of the food was fine even though the Thaifood was far to mild. The desserts was fine with free ice cream. The Champagne at 12 o’clock was of course not champagne but some cheap substitute. This is OK but then it shouldnt say champagne in the add! For 999Bath the whole thing was s joke and the owner probably made quite a good profit! But the Swedes are willing to pay so why not!!!

Stayed there with family. People are nice and friendly, but the most amazing thing is location. It is literally on the beach and away from the city, so you can really enjoy some peace and quiet. Maybe a small downside is that when the water is high you have to walk through the water to get to the hotel. Otherwise everything is perfect:)

We read in Koh Chang guide that this place get's good reviews. We were on a little walk on White sand beach and tried out the restaurant for a brunch. I can say it was the best brunch in my life :) + nice view + quite place + clean restroom + fast service I can recommend it.

A difficult review. I nearly gave it average but settled on poor which reflects my overall impression. The location is terrific; the prices are reasonable. The room, I paid for the best room available that wasn't a family room as I am on my own, it was Ok, everything worked but the bathroom was shabby, cleaning is carried out when requested by a cheery, friendly young lady. The view was lovely, and it was all nice and quiet. Wifi was a bit of a joke, sometimes working, sometimes not but always quite weak at best. The staff went from excellent and helpful to disinterested, almost resentful of being interrupted, so much so that a smile was greeted with an indifferent glare, overall it spoilt the whole atmosphere. I felt that I was an intruder, not conducive to a holiday atmosphere. I paid for breakfast with the room price which was just about OK. I decided to eat at the restaurant as the food looked excellent and I was most surprised to see that on the breakfast paid menu for the walk up's, some items that were not offered on the breakfast that I had paid for. I felt cheated and so went elsewhere to dine each evening; they missed four days worth of revenue. There is no road. The hotel is around an 800m walk along the beach, not a problem in any way for me but that may be a different story if you have a 30kg case to carry and the tide is in. The place entirely closes at 10.00pm. If this were a school report, it would summarise as could do better. I will not return here.

We stayed here for three nights. The location on the beach is fantastic. The hotel is built on an outcrop of rock so you feel like you're almost in the sea. Our room overlooked the beach so we had beautiful sunset views over the water. The breakfasts were okay. I recommend the fruit and yogurt. The evening meal we had one night was lovely. The cocktails are great and drinking from a coconut was something I loved!! We chose a basic fan room. The room was fine. The shower and bathroom were shared which meant relying on no one being in there when you wanted it. Overall a great, value for money hotel

A lovely hotel built onto a rocky outcrop midway along Whitesand towards the north end. Used as a thoroughfare to reach the other part of the beach. an excellent place to stop and admire the view particularly the sunsets. I will definitely stay there next time I am on Ko Chang

This is the third stay.. with different owners I hasten to add. It will be my last visit! Stayed for 6 days. Room was beautifully clean... staff who cleaned the rooms were excellent. Other staff, especially early morning staff were just rude! Noses against iPads, phones etc. Totally ignoring you.. didn't even lift their head when we arrived for breakfast. I have read in another review the owner states it's not a 5* and not to expect such service... I DO however expect simple basic courtesy!! Even bough we have paid for breakfast here, We actually ended up going up the beach to have breakfast with a different NON 5* resort who actually smiled and made us feel like we actually mattered. What an awful way to treat customers. It really spoilt what was a longed for holiday/honeymoon that I worked really hard to save for! The location is beautiful... but there are far better resorts who respect their customers at a better price as well. Sorry but I'm so disappointed I could cry!!

We have not stayed in the rooms but have eaten here twice at lunch. Each time beautiful food and generous portions. Recommend fish with red curry. Staff are very professional and not over friendly. Lovely setting and views

We stayed at the Rock Sand for 6 nights in two different rooms. The Rock Sand is located at the most beautiful quiet part of the Whitesandbeach. Its perfect for swiming and relaxing. Service and breakfast were alright. There are always great sunsets and got some VERY GOOD massages at the Resort!
