Rock sand Resort

The location is just amazing! To be right by the sea is a view to remember. They were in the middle of renovation during my stay and it’s unique character was beginning to shine once again. The staff was amazing, very attentive and looked after me during my stay. I had food at the restaurant everyday and the food was delicious and presentable. You do have to walk through the beach to get there but it’s only a short walk and there is a bridge in case the tide is high. Having the sea right on your doorstep was incredible. You can also rent surf board and snorkels whenever you want. The best unique stay so far and I will sure be coming back again.

Locationwise it was perfect. One (a little bit older) lady working in the restaurant was very friendly. She deserves a 10 out of 10.

We stayed in a room that was rather high on the mountain. Maybe that’s why there was no water several times a day. After complaining about this, the answer was that they had to buy extra water every day and that they had to pay extra for that. When you rent out rooms, you have to ensure guests have water 24/7. After a week we had a room that was located lower, there only was some low pressure now and then, but at least there was water. Restaurant closed very early, 8 pm. Products mentioned on the menu were not always available. But there was a very good and friendly restaurant only a 100 meters further on the beach. There were no facilities, like fresh water bottles. Clean towels were a problem sometimes due to a broken washing machine.

Beautiful location, a little quieter than some of the other hotels as it’s further along the beach and out of town. Has lots of character but still solid, clean and practical.

Raining water was a little intermittent but quickly sorted itself out.

I loved the location and the scenery - the ocean was right outside my window, I could see it from my bed! I also really liked their food. And the best thing was the awesome friendly and cooperative service, and getting to know the host family a little in three generations. Very approachable and lovely. Thank you for making our stay so wonderful!

We were at Rock Sands in November/December 2023. We have the family and the staff were helpful and very nice. My son had to go to the hospital and the owner gave his car to his employee so that he could drive my son there. We were driven to the taxi on departure because it was not possible to walk there with luggage and child due to the high water level. We felt very comfortable and are grateful for the nice holiday. We will come back

The mattresses, blankets and pillows would have to be renewed

We stayed in a Queen size room on 1st floor overlooking the sea and the actual size of the room was good and facilities basic but fine. The view is incredible and you get to see beautiful sunsets from here. We had an initial good welcome when we arrived but things went downhill after that. Water for having a shower or even cleaning your teeth was a constant issue for the 5 nights we were there. The pressure was low or non existent and we were having to repeatedly report it. They were constantly trying to resolve it. Service wasn't good. We decided to have dinner there one evening and only chose basic Thai food but I had mine and 40 minutes later my husband was still waiting. There was no explanation, no apology so in the end we just paid for my food and left. They didn't seem at all concerned about it. Every day we left our key for our room to be cleaned (bed made, bins emptied) but this only got done on 2 of the days we were there. If you like a firm bed you'll be fine as it was very tough to sleep on. If you were in Reception waiting to ask a question or get some information, even though there were staff there and they could see you were waiting they'd carry on doing other things rather than ask what you needed. There just seemed a general disinterest from the staff there. When we arrived they said they could help take our luggage to our taxi point on our last day, as it's quite a trek along the sand but that never happened. Overall disappointing service. The location sells this hotel but customer service needs to improve.

What can I say... We had originally booked one week, and then planned to move elsewhere. Changed plans after only 4 days to extend our stay here for our whole trip, because we loved staying here. Super nice staff. Perfect location literaly IN the ocean, facing the sunset. Secluded uncrowded beach on one side, slightly more people on the other side. Quiet and tranquil, yet only abt 5 minutes walk on the beach to main street White Sand. We will definately return.

That I have to go back to Norway.
