Islambek Khiva

It is a welcoming place in an excellent location. The hotel management also runs a tourist agency that helps travelers to move around in the vicinity and beyond. I particularly appreciated being helped to find a last-minute ride to Nukus even though in high season they were booked up their eyes.

We spent two nights at Islambek Hotel but we would have liked to stay more. The rooms are ok but we enjoyed the most the terrace with lovely views of the two minarets. The staff was extremely helpful, organizing the day trip to Muynak and various taxi transfers. They even prepared the breakfast for us although we were 30 minutes late after the long but interesting trip to what is left from the Aral See. The atmospheric old part of Khiva is probably our favourite place in Uzbekistan and the hotel location is very good to explore it on foot or go out of the citadel to buy stuff from the supermarket, have an autentic shashlik at the restaurant in the park or need to get to the train station.

my room smelled funnily, it was too warm (even when it was chilly outside), and looked a bit dusty. same for the floor in the corridor. water smelled of sulphur at the beginning

Loved our stay here. The room was really big and the added bonus of our own fridge was great. The staff were really friendly and helpful we even booked a car to take us on a trip as they also do tours around Khiva. Was so nice to have breakfast provided in the morning. Great location in the city.
