Hôtel Saint-Louis Sun Dakar

SCAM ALERT — avoid this hotel if you do not want your reservation changed after arrival. I booked and fully paid for a room with a balcony and city view. After arriving, I was placed in a disgusting dirty room with hairs everywhere — on the bed, floor, and bathroom. It looked like the room had not been cleaned at all before check-in. After I complained, they moved me to another room, but it was still NOT the room I paid for. Staff later admitted that all balcony rooms were already occupied, meaning they knowingly accepted and sold reservations for rooms they did not actually have available. So basically: they advertise one thing, take your money, and then give you whatever is left. The replacement room also had no hot water. The next day they finally moved me to the correct room category, but nobody apologized or offered compensation for the first night. Instead, staff blamed each other and pretended the issue was someone else’s responsibility. I contacted Booking.com support and the hotel denied EVERYTHING. Thankfully I had photos proving the condition of the first room and all the issues I reported. Without evidence, they would simply call you a liar. This was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. Extremely unprofessional, misleading, and dishonest behavior toward guests. If you stay here, take photos immediately after entering the room because the hotel will deny problems later.
