Hôtel Saint-Louis Sun Dakar

The atmosphere of the hotel is lovely. It's not a typical big chain hotel. The rooms are basic but clean and comforatable. The courtyard restaurant is a great place to eat and the food was very good. The staff were absolutely brilliant. Communication with them was so easy and they were always so helpful. The hotel is round the corner from two bakeries which make wonderful bread and cakes. The Independence Square is at the bottom of the street. You are within walking distance of the port so can organise your own visit to the Maison des Esclaves. I loved this hotel. It is a little gem.

Brealfast could be a bit better. Bread and a hot drink basically.

The staff ist amazing and very helpful, even in English what seems to be one of the bigger challenges in Senegal. Breakfast simple, but goods, rooms Clean, very nice garden!

The beds are a bit too small. Lack of shower curtain in the small bathroom is not too optimal. There ist a mosque next door, so prepare for some loud calls of prayer 😊

Loved the courtyard and the greenery,and the yellow walls it was nice and bright a really nice place to relax and enjoy a meal away from the madness outside.The girl on reception spoke a little English and was very helpful loca

The 5.00 am noise from the Mosque next store then again at 6.00 am.The volume was to the point of distortion,could not get back to sleep after that.

Let to try to install TV in there bed room

Positives: + great location fairly close to the ferry port and easy exit out of Dakar + good size room + when I booked only a room with 3 beds was available so I booked it for one. Upon arrival they had downgraded me to a 2 bed room and the price was also lower. This was very much appreciated! + good wifi strength + lovely staff + peaceful & beautiful inside courtyard + restaurant on site + Air-conditioning in a room but did not use it Negatives: - towels could be replaced, they are so thin & old
