Villa Bella

Rooms was clean, had a view, breakfast was sufficient. Ivan, the manager assisted us with tours and information. He was very helpful.

We thought each room had their own coffee making facilities, each level had a shared coffee machine.

The rooms were clean and comfortable, the location was convenient to city center.

The breakfast was ok, but limited. Also, they only accept cash as a payment option, I would have appreciated being told that prior to arrival.

Location of property - quiet, above the main town centre and away from the lakeside. Manager/Owner (Ivan) very helpful in dealing with difficult taxi driver, recommending restaurants and visit to Old City.

Unacceptable that there could be two different Villa Bella in Ohrid. I passed the Albanian driver our address. He drove us from the Border and using his internet took us eventually to the wrong Villa Bella some 10kms from the City along the lake. We wasted over an hour and then he tried to charge me €35 for what should have been a max 20 min drive from the border. I had to settle for €25 when I am sure the going rate should have been no more than €15. Ivan from our correct Villa did his best to help my negotiations - why should I be responsible and pay for the driver taking me to the wrong address? This was a very poor introduction to Northern Macedonia - but not a local Ohrid driver! No-frills room was very simple with basic facilities - no telephone or obvious means of communicating with the manager. No coffee-making facilities in the room, kettle outside on the landing and some coffee/tea/sugar under the stairs left over from breakfast. Not clear if it was available 24 hrs. Breakfast buffet only available from 0900. To be collected and taken outside to eat in the attractive garden. Expensive at €70 per night given basic facilities compared with other hotels used in Albania. Unable to pay by card because of new banking arrangements - had to go out and draw local currency from ATM down in the town.

Perfect location, fantastic breakfast in house and near by, very clean rooms, Ivan was a great hosts and very helpful. Definetely would book again!

Location and proximity to the city center

No common areas or lobby except one small balcony which is mostly used for smoking. was more of a airbnb style and advertised as a hotel. Beds were very hard.
