Hostal Mulut Tulum

For one of the cheaper places to stay in Tulum it was definitely really good. The communal areas were well equipped and very clean, all the staff were super lovely and helpful. Bathrooms were clean and beds were pretty comfy. Drinking water available which is always a plus. Breakfast was very basic of cereals and toast but did the job!

There was no running water for over 12 hours (which we’ve learnt is rather common in Mexico!), luckily it was raining heavily so the water could be collected in buckets to flush the toilets… otherwise I’m not sure what would have been done!

Todo bien....the breakfast is minimal, either cereal or make your own eggs. I didn't see any milk though.. todo bien.

The owner and staff are amazing. For the price, this is worth every dollar. The tube are great, Cosy and comfortable. I will recommend to friends. Gracias!

Nice decor/vibe of round/hippy stuff. Staff was very nice.

Rooms were extremely small, you could hear people walking a feet from your door, cats fighting in the night. I didnt sleep much cuz the tube was either too hot or too cold. Cats were nosy, wanted a piece when we brought chicken but there’s a bottle of water for that. They also sleep on the couches, so they do smell. Lots of mosquitoes, bring repellent!

A great hostel with private sleeping pods. Nice atmosphere and good value for money in Tulum.

Tubes are pretty small and sometimes uncomfortable. Breakfast was not great, only bread and some cereals.

Good location on the cycle path and easy to get around Tulum from here, and to the bus station etc. The bathrooms were really spacious and clean. The kitchen was decently equipped to make basic meals. I love cats so having so many around the property was cute!

The owner was a little odd when I arrived. I booked a shared room because I didn't like the look of the tubes that much, and when I arrived she asked if I wanted to "upgrade" for a fee to the tubes. When I said no she seemed a bit annoyed and told me I couldn't have the room I booked because it was being painted. She said she'd put me in the tube for one night and if I liked it I could pay extra to stay there for the other nights. Long story short the room I originally wanted was never available, and despite asking me a few times if I wanted to "upgrade" I was never charged extra. Super weird and left a bit of a bad taste to what would have otherwise been a nice stay! The tube was a bit cold because you're so close to the AC and could feel a bit cramped if you have a big backpack. I would have preferred the room I booked with a normal ceiling.

Very charming hostel! Nice community kitchen and seating area! There are opportunities to chill and relax (like hammocks) throughout the place. Rooms are clean. Owner is very friendly and responsive. Location is good, it is between downtown and beaches!

We had a hard time finding it since it is called Hostal Mulut Tulum but on Googlemaps you find the accommodation only under the name TuboTulum Hostel which was a bit confusing!
