Hotel Boutique Sol y Luna SPA

My recent stay at Hotel Boutique Sol y Luna SPA was an absolute pleasure. From the moment we stepped through the door, the professional yet friendly staff made us feel welcome. Highlights of the hotel are the on-site spa, outdoor pool and restaurant. We indulged in a couple's massage that left us feeling rejuvenated. We also enjoyed the included breakfast, as well as other meals in the onsight restaurant.

This is a gem of a hotel. I stayed for 3 very comfortable, very pleasurable weeks. It's a small hotel with only 10 rooms (3 more being renovated) so very nicely quiet. It's located on the west end of downtown Ajijic, right on the city bus line so very easy to get downtown if you don't want to walk the cobblestones. (I was there in mid-winter to walk and I would certainly recommend Ocampo over Zaragoza!). The rooms are beautiful and modern, showers hot, king bed comfortable, and came equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, kettle, TV (with English service) and a heat pump, for heating or air conditioning, a rarity in hotels in that region. I was working part-time and very glad of the very good WiFi. Oscar, the proprietor, is very open to negotiations for long stays. The excellent kitchen provides a large selection of Mexican and Canadian/American dishes, including many options for breakfast, which is included. The bonuses are a spa service on the weekends along with the full Mexican buffet on Sundays - and the heated swimming pool. But the true bonus was the staff, truly superb, made me feel at home and clearly enjoyed working there which I think says a lot. I'd happily return.

Muy buen lugar, muy buena comida, muy bonitas habitaciones… el negrito en el arroz es que mi reservación era por $5,700 y me cobraron $6,900… nadie me supo dar respuesta ni en el hotel y menos en el servicio al cliente de cuarta que tiene Hoteles.com

We had a wonderful exquisite dining experience. The kitchen is to be complemented as well as the exemplary wait staff. Thank you Maria. The food is very very good, perfect portions cooked as asked. The ambiance is superior surrounded by Constatino Laura’s unbelievable tapestries. Thx to all Ajijicans who traverse all the usual places. We had a marvelous quiet dining experience.

Sol y Luna is a lovely hotel and spa with very friendly hosts. They are currently improving the property, adding rooms suitable for longer stays. Breakfast is included with the room and the patio where breakfast is served is great. The rooms are large, charming and with full baths

Unfortunately I wasn't able to take advantage of the breakfast, because I heard from multiple townspeople that the food at Sol y Luna is delicious. The staff was very kind and helpful. There is an art gallery with interesting original pieces, and I was l lucky to see 2 shows, as the switched over during my stay.

Although the pillows were very good quality and comfortable, the mattress was a too firm for me, which is a matter of personal needs. I am over 60 woman, and need more comfort for my shoulders and hips.

Muy amables, te hacen sentir en casa, atención personalizada. Muy buena comida. Muy recomendable!!!

Pool, courtyard bar, room was a pleasure to stay in and Sunday breakfast buffet was top class.
