Hotel Boutique Sol y Luna SPA

Breakfast every morning was very good. The receptionist was very accommodating - she even supplied me with a hair dryer and a steamer for my clothes. Plenty of hanging space for clothing. The wait staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel had an art show in the lobby on a Sunday that featured local artists. In the evening, they brought in several singers/musicians and was great fun.

1. A spacious room but room needed to have a chest with drawers - I had to put folded personal/clothing items on the shelves where blankets are kept in the bathroom. 2. If I went out for the evening, the hotel gave me a key for a lock on the gate to re-enter but I had to grope through the iron grates to access the lock with the key and I had to do this "by feel." I appreciated, however, their sense of safety and security for their guests.

The view (no view of garden or pool only a bldg ), the pool(dirty and small), spa- area is nasty and I didn’t get to use it, no breakfast- (no one to set up until 10am. Gates padlocked so I couldn’t leave as I was starving at 8am), phoned owner ( we had a card) but he never answered- had to have a friend call him from outside the compound-, wifi sucked, working off & on

Unfortunately we had to leave before breakfast was ready. They staff mad coffee for us which was excellent. Our dinner the night before was very good as well. I highly recommend eating at their restaurant. All of the staff was friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. When we had problems with the TV setting the language, they came in and showed us how. The pool was clean and easy to get in and out of. The grounds and building was very beautiful, with the old world charm of Mexican architecture.

This actually is a like/dislike. The doors are locked at 7pm. Good right? Problem is you have to call the management to have them unlock the door to get back in. An inconvenience for them and you.

The breakfast was excellent and one had a wide variety of foods to choose from. They are very helpful and accommodating for any needs/changes.

No mini bar/fridge in the room. A coffee pot/kettle in the room would have been nice. They did provide a cooler with ice but it didn't help my slice of banana bread I was saving for another day as it ended up in the melting ice. The night before we left there was a conversation between 11:30pm and midnight with another renter right in front of all the rooms which may as well have been in your own room for how loud it was. Quiet time is suppose to be at 10pm, even 11pm would have been nice since we had to get up early the next day.

Great food, beautiful spot! Old buildings, art gallery, nice place for gathering or just a couple's dinner. Highly recommend, each dish is unique and worth ordering. Enjoy the gallery exhibit while dining,

The 4 of us immensely enjoyed the blackened tuna special of the day.. Generous size tuna steak...Cooked to perfection..Accompanied with spinach & grilled vegetables.. Very attentive service.. We had a tour of the grounds & very impressed with the sparkling waters of the new pool.. Hard to believe this had been the former property of the Bravo Theatre.. Certainly will eat at this new restaurant again..Welcome addition to the amazing food scene in Ajijic...Lakeside..
