Maria Paulo Guest House Bar and Restaurant

We really enjoyed the balcony and the proximity to the beach. You are really in the middle of everything. Having a fridge in the room was helpful. If you are looking for a base to explore from, then it's ideal for the price. If you want to watch sport, you're in the right place but if not, it shouldn't affect you. Lively bars nearby but didn't interrupt our sleep.

Everything was clean but the bedding and towels were looking tired/discoloured and could do with replacing. Some of the power sockets were temperamental but you can figure it out.

Kettle in room but no tea/coffee

The hospitality, the owners , the staff, the rooms, cleanliness, food. It really felt like home away from home. It takes only a minute to get to the beach. Amazing location. I must mention their wifi facility. Every floor has a separate wifi connection. I had a crisis after checking out from the guest house and they could provide me a room and the same facility for a night. Would visit again.

I cannot mention a thing that I didn't like as there isn't any.

They were sweet and let me have a late check out and helped me kindly with things with a smile.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The staff were helpful and were able to meet our needs during our stay. The location (though not beach front) is great and close to other things you may want/need. It has easy beach access via the side of the hotel or 10m down the road via an alley way. We found the in house restaurant to have great food at the best prices in town. We ate Indian vegetarian during our stay and enjoyed the flavours and service.

Unfortunately we didn’t always have hot water. And there wasn’t always enough water pressure for showers. But there is an electric jug supplied in the room so you can boil water for a bucket wash. Which if you’ve traveled other parts of India is just the norm.

The room was clean, the bed was incredibly comfortable (few accommodations have that), AC and private fresh bedroom. The AC and fan seemed very clean since we didn't get sick from it. They even left us two water bottles for free and the room had it's own fridge. Staff was very kind and helpful. The price is very good for everything that you get! The location was great and it was a secret little path on the backside of the house that leads directly to the beach! The restaurant's prices was reasonable and the food was great. I really appreciated walking around the garden and seeing all the different plants and flowers.

The only thing I can think of is that they asked for half of the payment in advance. It's kind of complicated to do international transfers and it would be easier to just pay everything on spot. But the payment information was easy to follow. The problem was that it takes a few days for the payment to go through and when I arrived they hadn't seen the payment. But the staff was helpful and they were fine with it all when I showed them the payment on my phone and sent them a printscreen to their email.

It’s right in the centre of Agonda … but there are many alternatives available

Expected a different room type with fridge and kettle - we got a kettle - requested a fridge to be told “NO” Not as clean as it could be Bathroom Shower leaking Zero hot water We had breakfast one day that was fine - one evening we had an evening meal which was less than satisfactory

location was near to beach. room size was big and good. They have provided cot for three person.

waste water was not flowing properly in bath room. No hot water.

A great location and confortable cleans rooms. The restaurant also serves great food throughout the day. Staff were happy to help with any queries throughout our stay.
