Amazing experience staying in Cai Be at Sao Mai Hotel. Vu and his family really take care of you here. When you stay here you will be fed delicious home made meals and have the opportunity to speak with Vu and his family, getting a better understanding of Vietnam and the Mekong region. They will help you with everything in your stay whether it be food, tours, bus tickets and onward travel! Room was very comfortable with hot water and AC. Thank you for everything!

Mr Vu is a fabulous host. Over our 2 days here he has supplied; - A 2 boat tour, one larger, one smaller of all the local waterways. - A trip to his parents local farm - Pedal bikes we could use to explore - Motor bike guidance and a tour. - Loads of lovely local home cooked food. I loved the one night I spent at this homestay. The host went above and beyond to make sure I had a great time and all the information I needed. He even taking us out on a boat tour with just the other hotel guests which was great fun. I really felt so welcome and cared for. The lodging themselves are very spacious and comfortable and I thought offered good value for money. I liked that they provided all the meals at a small cost because not so many places to eat around.

The bike I borrowed althiugh it was so nice it was for free it wasn't in great condition and quite difficult to ride.

perfect combination between family house and hotel. the house is just in front of the water, and you can borrow bikes for free in order to visit the center of the town. you can have diner and breakfast at the house (very good, the diner was full of different and delicious vietnamese dishes). the family was very nice and very helpful. they also have access to a bus company which can pick you up in front of the house and take you back to Ho Chi Minh center. We recommend !!!

When we arrived at the hotel, Mr. Vu was waiting for us. The first thing he told us was that for him guests are not just clients, but family. And that's exactly how it was. After that, he was no longer Mr. Vu for us, but friend Vu. If you want to experience Vietnam, the Sao Mai Hotel is exactly the place where you can feel authentic vibes. Also Vu is not just the owner of the hotel, he's also a chef, tour guide and manager of everything. And he's not only available but also very happy to be of your service 24/24.

The greeting by host was very friendly and warming. They treated us like family and one thing i really apreciated was that right after i booked, they contacted me for travel instructions and info that was reliable and helpfull with better prices than i got from Ho chi ming city buses. We got to book private tour to mekong river side with big and small boat with visits to markets for a good deal. Not the instagram version but a better one with no tourist 😅. Good listener and english speaker + a little french.

Vu is the best host you can wish for, for your stay in Mekong delta. We came to get a more local experience than booking a tour from Ho Chi Minh and yes, we had such a great time with him and his family and felt warmly welcomed to their home. The room was simple, but spacious and very clean with AC, fan and TV. His sister made the best food for lunch and dinner and they were so helpful in organising our stay and transportation to our next location. We also went on a 4 hour tour with Vu to see the local life on and around the Mekong River. Everything was set on a very fair price, we also got free drinking water, laundry, bikes and they even gave us a lift to the bus at 4am in the morning. We extended our stay for one more night and were very sad to leave. We definitely would come again!
