Hotel Soyokaze

Takao-san and his wife were the most welcoming and helpful hosts I had ever met. We were staying for 4 nights and drove to the property by car. As it was snowing so much that week, Takao helped us to prepare our car for the journey and updating us the road conditions. They were always there to help us from booking skiing lessons, restaurants to offering options on where to ski. The property was right in the middle of Ecoland, so a short walk to everywhere. It also located in the middle of all the ski resorts so it was always no more than 15-20 mins drive away to each ski resort. Our room was comfortable, clean and spacious. There was one private onsen which could be booked on the day, and I never had any problem booking the time I wanted, it was a great way to end an evening. We also made the mistake of not booking the first day breakfast and ended up going to Calico which is just across the street from Soyakaze, it was lousy and ran by Australian so not the authentic Japanese experience we were looking for. We loved the breakfast at Soyakaze, it was the right amount and all of the food was delicious. So definitely recommend to book the breakfast in advance. We only found out on the last night there yjey they also offer dinner on request. We will probably try it out next time. It was sad that we needed to leave, wish we could stay longer.

Excellent location, near the bus stop to the snow resorts, convenience stores and heaps of restaurants. Moreover a wholesome experience with the kind and friendly staff who put in a lot of effort to make your stay exceptional (and worthy of a review and I don’t do many)! The onsen after a day of ski is icing on the cake. We would gladly return to Soyokaze.

Clean rooms, great breakfast, nice onsen, best location in Habuka. Remarkable host and hostess. Close to shuttle bus stop, convenience store, several restaurants, ski rental shops, and 10 ski resorts.

The rules for the Onsen should be more clear. I could not invite my family to enjoy the Onsen with me because they were not guests of the hotel and the owner became extremely angry when we tried to use it together.

Friendly family run accomodation in main ski area close to ski hire, bus to slopes. Spacious room, comfortable beds. Owner picked us up from and dropped us back at main bus station, helped with ski tickets, etc. Spoke a little English. private Onsen was gorgeous.

Breakfast not included, but easy to get from local store and keep in fridge. Paid for breakfast one morning on site, and was Ok.

Takao-san and his partner were amazing hosts that helped us every step of the way, even for reccomendations for which mountains and restuarants to head to (they even took the effort to call and make additional reservations) We booked the mobile home, which was incredibly modern, clean and sleek, 10/10 reccomend. There was also an onsen, which is fantastic after a hard day on the slopes
