7 Day's Hotel

We went to the Ukrainian Festival in Lamont and stayed here. The staff were friendly and and the room was very clean and updated. There was new flooring, bed, and bathroom fixtures. The bed had a thick mattress that we had to jump into it, and was very comfortable. We had a really good sleep that we both slept in. For under $80 it was a very good deal for a good nights sleep.

They didn't have the room I booked. So I got a smaller room but got charged for the bigger room. The place was gross. I had to run to the store to get cleaning stuff. There was coffee all over the coffee maker and wall. The bath room the tube had water lines n dirt n hair everywhere. The mirror had white spots on it. TV n stand had dust all over it. When I opened a draw there was dead bugs n dust in them. I had to even wash the walls looked like someone put the boogers on the walls. Oh and there was hand prints on the wall in the shower. I couldn't clean them off but they did come off some. But nothing that paint could fix. I was out the first day n no one came in the room to replace towels or clean alittle bit. When I got back at 4 they asked if I wanted the room cleaned. And like what didn't they did I would sit in the hall while they did it so late. The second day I was there all day at 5 they tried coming in the room. Not cool when I was getting in the shower. And on the last day when I went out for a my smoke in the morning the card wouldn't work to let me in. Good thing someone was still in my room or I would have been waiting who knows how long cause there is no one there. I didn't have my phone on me. There isn't a phone in the room. This by far I very gross place and over priced for what I got. Especially getting charge the wrong room price. Oh and one more thing. There was still food in the microwave that wasn't cleaned. Pictures couldn't get how bad it really was but still can see it was gross.

Proximity to Elk Island was good. Evening meal tasty and well priced.

This is the most disgusting hotel I've stayed at in my whole life. Usually I can find at least one good thing in a hotel. Not here. From the moment we walked in we should've known this place was bad news. You have to go into the bar to book a room. The bartender was nice, we booked a week without looking at the room, which was our biggest mistake. Our room costed us $480 for the week. They told us there was a kitchenette in the room. The entire place reeks of stale cigarettes. I don't smoke personally but I spend most of my time with smokers, so the smell is nothing new. I actually had to hold my breath to keep from coughing. Even my boyfriend who smokes regularly said it irritated his nose. Our room was at the end of the hall, while walking up you can hear people in their rooms. Somehow it reeks like stale smoke up here even more, even though there's no smoking permitted. Once we entered our room we immediately wanted to leave. There is no lights. I repeat - NO LIGHTS IN THE ROOM. There is one lamp, but only 3 individual plug ins in the whole room work which were all being taken up. We had to use the TV for a light. There is one plug in that was available in the bathroom so we ended up plugging it in there and putting it on the shelf, trying to get some light. The outlet between the beds does not work at all and one of the plugs by the window is burned so badly it's completely black and melting. The "kitchenette" was a mini fridge that had no door shelves. The door shelves were made out of duct tape. There was no freezer portion. It hardly worked. There was a layer of dust so thick it makes me think this room has never been cleaned. For the 4 days we stayed here, I never saw the housekeeper once. The tub is so slippery from soap scum I almost fell. There is hair all over the walls and pee coating the toilet. The shower pressure is so high you can't even stand underneath it. The bed was horrid. We had to go to Fort Saskatchewan and buy new sheets. There was lipstick on the pillow case. (!!!!!!!) The other pillow was yellow from cigarette smoke, and reeked. I spent 5-6 hours cleaning this place. The formerly white fan was black from all of the dirt and grime. The bar staff knows nothing about the upstairs hotel. I called before staying here and she had to call the owner and call me back. If that wasn't enough, the parking is all in an alley beside the building, which is fine. Except the fact that people will come and draw on your vehicle. Every. Night. So to top it all off, after 4 days we left. Just as we expected there was definitely no refund. If you value your sanity, do not ever stay at this hotel. Do not let your friends stay at this hotel. Do not even let your enemies stay at this hotel. As oil field workers who travel regularly, I figured that no hotel could really be too bad to stay in. Well, I found it. For the love of all that is Holy, DO NOT STAY AT THE LAMONT HOTEL. Do not make the same mistake we did.

It isn't the Hilton or even the Motel 6 folks but what it is is CHEAP! Have stayed here a few times while working in the oil patch. At $60 a night you can't go wrong. No microwave but has a fridge, bath, shower, tv. No A/C but the windows open. Your typical rinky dink small town bar hotel. Beds are ok if you are tired enough and the rooms are clean enough. It is what it is.
