The Lister Arms

Our room was very comfortable and quiet. The bathroom was modern with a great shower. The breakfast was really good with a wide choice of hot and cold food. The staff were very attentive. We had dinner in the hotel both evenings and the standard of food was very good.

Very comfortable room and beautiful bathroom with large shower cubicle and stand alone bath. We ate in the restaurant every night of our 4 night stay and the food was exceptional. Breakfasts were also fantastic.

Evening meal was excellent. Size of the room plus the facilities also excellent.

only one issue - room was by the beer garden which was noisy - but only for a shortish period.

Lovely property in beautiful location

Lovely original property with lots of history. Brilliant location close to lots of great walks. Our room was very spacious and had great facilities. It’s the first time I’ve ever been offered fresh milk to take to the room to use with tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was great - the homemade granola was the best I’ve ever tasted! The evening meal was really nice but we thought it was quite expensive. £42 for a 10 oz steak and £34 for Pork Chop seems expensive to me. We both had the vegetable glow bowl and that was decent value.

I would have liked some sort of blind or privacy curtain so we could have the curtains open but as we were at the front of the building it was quite exposed. It was quite noisy at night as our room was directly above the bar area.
