Grand Plaza

We were greeted with a cup of much needed tea on arrival. This was so welcoming. Rooms were ready for us and we had rooms across from each other, which was perfect. Our rooms were big, but the choice had been limited when i had booked. We ended up with a suite each! Food in the restaurant was very tasty and there is a wide choice. We observed 2 cooking demonstrations which were brilliant. We also enjoyed some complimentary tea and snacks one evening. The additional events are a great idea.

Due to the busy main road, it's difficult to get into Munnar without taking a taxi or rickshaw from the hotel.

Each cottage is built in a beautiful setting; right among the tea plants.

I really didn’t like the food.

Staff, food and facilities was excellent. The stand out here is the evening tea and snacks for all the guests.

There was nothing much to like about it. Nothing exceptional.

Staff was rude and were not transparent. Not even a bottle of mineral water was given. Reception did not inform us about the goodies on the table and when we used it, they charged us money for it.

The staff of the Grand Plaza was wonderful all around, and the restaurant is one of the best in town. Our room was comfortable and bright, with three windows and a nice view of the river and back lawn where afternoon tea and snacks are served. The bathroom was modern and clean. The furniture in the room was perhaps a bit dated, but perfectly comfortable. Really enjoyed it. Good location to walk to other shops and restaurants in town.

We didn't have any screens in our windows to keep out mosquitoes, but also didn't have any mosquitoes when we left the windows open. Still, might be a nice safety measure on at least one window per room.
