Villa Nilmalee

Dies ist ein ausgesprochen schönes, solide gebautes Haus mit geräumigen Zimmern. Ausserdem wurden wir sehr gut bewirtet mit einem traditionellem Essen. Zum Abschluss gab es einen grünen Tee aus der hauseigenen Teeplantage serviert vom Manager persönlich. Es passiert selten, dass man so persönlich und zuvorkommend in einem Haus - das einmal einem Plantagenbesitzer gehört hat - empfangen wird.

Die Unterkunft ist etwas weit ausserhalb von Kandy, so dass sie eher für eine Übernachtung auf der Durchreise geeignet ist.

The staff was very friendly, the room was clean and comfortable. It was well located to get to Ampuluwawa tower!

Breakfast was Ok but nothing special.

Its a new nice property with nice room and staff. Manager was very kind and helpful.

They were not going to give any. But then they did, and it was tasty. The house and furniture were beautiful.

I booked from USA via Booking.com. I thought I paid with a credit card and got a confirmation #. I exchanged emails with Mr Asoka. He asked about our food preferences for dinner and breakfast. But when we arrived he said I had not paid, he would not provide food, they could not deal with Booking.com, we had to pay in Sri Lankan rupees, he would not give currency change. My sister & her husband said that there was one narrow blanket for the 2 of them, they had to use the shawls they brought. Our tour guide ordered Appam from outside, and then Mr Asoka's cook made good curry. He was hugely uncaring about our basic comfort.

Friendly and professional manager, with helpful staff. The perfect location which is motorable and easy access. Delicious food and tea preprepared at the hotel are organic and grown at their own gardens. Since there are only five rooms it is comfortable as less crowd always. Felt like home away from home.

Very nice ambiance. Old kolonial style but very neat and well maintained. Only 5 rooms, so very cosy. Large rooms with nice beds. Great view on the surrounding hills. Very kind personel. Fast responding to my changing plans and questions. Good price for a nice rice and curry dinner.

It quite close to the main road, so you hear the traffic. But because the villa is on a hill you don’t look at the traffic.
