Villa Nilmalee

We stayed here for 2 nights as a base for exploring Kandy and Nuwara Eliya and couldn’t have asked for more. The rooms are very comfortable and the staff are so welcoming. The pool is a wonderful new addition - it was great to have a dip after a long day of sightseeing. But the best thing has to be the food. They ask you what you want to eat and then cook it for you. It was absolutely delicious and by far the tastiest food we ate during our whole two week holiday. The nearby Ambuluwawa Tower is well worth a visit (if you’re not scared of heights!) and make sure to ask the manager, Asoka, about tea - he’s so knowledgeable and passionate about it! He did a tea tasting for us which was fascinating. We’d definitely stay here again.

It was close to the Ambuluwawa tower and a Hypermarket in walking distance. The bed was comfortable.

Although on the website said that dinner could be booked, we were told there would be no dinner. When we headed to town to find it, people were having dinner in the dining hall.

Pricy for the facility they provide Worst food

The location all though 20 mins from Kandy it was very peaceful. The room was very spacious, 4 poster bed , plenty of storage lovely rain shower, plus the tree house. The food was very good local , the staff were amazing made you feel at home. The Manager was very personable and did every thing to help you.

The bathroom just needed a few hooks to hang your wet towels up on !

The staff were extremely helpful, and always extremely friendly. The price was extremely good for the quality of the hotel. The hotel is just outside of Candy, and not too far away from some amazing hill tea plantations. We rented a car with a driver, which was a very good value and I would certainly recommend.

The roads in Sri Lanka are a bit crazy, you may well need a car to see the sights, but a Sri Lankan driver with the car is a good idea.

We only stayed one night at this Villa but would come back! The owner greeted us with some home made fruit drinks and let us use the room to put our baby to sleep even though it wasn't 100% ready yet. Very nice people and comfortable house with very big rooms!
