Great base location for exploring Coimbra and area

I was very happy with my stay there. The staff was incredibly helpful, friendly and professional. Even though most of the staff did not speak English and I did not speak my Portuguese, we still communicated well with each other. I so appreciated the owner's consideration for my comfort and his staff seems to have the same sentiment. The location is away from the noises of the city which adds to the therapeutic feeling while you're there. You can easily drive to Coimbra about 20 minutes away and enjoy the quiet roads along the way. The restaurant is classy and has a big menu. I ordered the sliced cod which ended up being too salty and fishy-tasting. I don't know if it is the recipe or if the recipe needs to be adjusted. The service was excellent and their wine selection is impressive.

The cod dish I ordered for dinner wasn't to my liking. But I would come back and eat here again and try something else on the menu.

What a special, special place! So perfect for relaxation and food for your soul. We were enchanted by the property surroundings. They have a vineyard to make their own wine and grow olives to make their own olive oil. Lemon and orange trees and a vegetable garden. A lovely infinity pool for relaxing. I can’t say enough about the amazing restaurant that produces the absolute best food you’ll ever have without fail! The friendly owners and staff stole our hearts. A very special thank you to Teresa and Maria who went above and way beyond the call of duty to make us feel welcome and at home. They are simply the BEST! I can’t wait to return for another stay!

Beautiful area to stay in. Room was modern and comfortable with an incredible view. Restaurant was lovely, food and service was very good. A very nice breakfast. Nice to walk around the vineyards and learn of the farm’s products- wine and olive oil which could be purchased if desired

It was a really nice surprise to find this gem, it totally exceeded our expectations. Small hotel with amazing owners and staff, specially Teresa who was always ready to help. The restaurant is first class. We are coming back hopefully soon for a longer stay.

We were absolutely amazed by everything. Quinta Dona Iria is the perfect place for a relaxed getaway. The staff is absolutely amazing, very welcoming and always with a smile and useful information for you to have the best stay. To be honest, the whole happiness withwhom we were received every single days made our days! The bedroom was spacious and super well clean, with a beautifully view over the pool and the mountains. All the products and meals served at the restaurant were absolutely high quality, and the wine and olive oil produced at the farm were delicious! There's parking inside the accomodation, which is also perfectly located a few minutes drive to Coimbra City Centre. One of the best places I've been in Portugal, definitely to return one day and definitely the one you can recommend to your friends without hesitation!
