We have stayed here twice to date, and there are many things to like. The Family Room was large, comfortable and well-equipped with plenty of storage space, clean towels, hangers/wardrobe space and a TV with YouTube and Netflix connectivity. There is a shared TV lounge with open fire, and large communal kitchen which was convenient for storing milk etc. in the fridge. There is plenty of safe, free street parking. Location is excellent - a short walk to the bus stop with buses taking you into Newcastle in 10mins. Within walking distance are the Dundrum Inn (great traditional pub, large beer garden and great Guinness), the Buck's Inn (superb food and service), and of course the next door Mourne Seafood Bar (excellent food). There are lots of sights and attractions a short drive away (highly recommend the Peace Maze in Castlewellan and Silent Valley). The area is clean, safe and family-friendly with lots of nice walks nearby (the walk up to Dundrum Woods and the castle is lovely, as is the short loop around The Quay). The next door Spar is also very convenient. Communication with the owner was excellent. We had an issue in our room, which happens, but it is the manner in which it is dealt with which is important. Chris was responsive, helpful and attentive. We will return again.

The rooms at the front are noisy with the front door and hall doors banging often, and the road outside is very busy. I therefore recommend the Accessible Family Room, which is located to the rear of the building. We also had a problem with our shower, which wasn't ideal, however it was handled well.

The book in worked very well, it proved to be an excellent location, on the entrance to Dundrum, with lots of excellent facilities, close to hand. Very impressed by the size of the room and the attention to comfort. The accommodation had superb shared facilities, large comfortable TV lounge, kitchen, with facilities, that would allow for a full family meal to be prepared, a great solution for some. Daily we met the cleaner, who was very warm, helpful and well informed about the local area, all in all, this was a perfect stay for us and my wife is a wheelchair user, with real .mobility issues.

There wasn't anything that we didn't like, but we have offered a couple of suggestions, based on our disability experience, which have been well received, no more than I would expect, from the owner, who ensured our booking matched our needs. Really positive.

Large comfortable room in a great location, good common facilities Great value for money

Broken shower meant it was a bit of a difficulty the next morning Walls are like paper so noisy guests at 3am sounded like they were in the room with you

Great location, close to beach and local shops, room spotless, comfortable beds, dogs very welcome. We'll definitely be back there.

Was able to book at short notice. Kitchen facility was ideal as we were leaving early the next morning. Very clean and spacious. Ideal for what we needed in a one night stay. Ideal for anyone hiking in the Mourne Mountains
