Just 8 rooms and great service, the Paulsens runs this place with passion. Very quirky decor & good choice of individual items. Stayed here with friends recently while in Meissen for a wedding...See other reviews! We stayed in room 9 in the annex, and while closest to the breakfast room we didn't hear a thing thanks to solid construction. The room was spacious with comfy bed and great bathroom... large shower space with view out to mini desk and lots of greenery giving a close to nature feel! In fact the grounds of the first house are amazing. There is a lovely little courtyard with tables and chairs to sit out on and enjoy the flowers. Sadly the weather wasn't great for us but still very much appreciated the surroundings. Great hosts, who speak English and are very happy to help, great breakfast and great stay. Thanks Christine :)

We recently stayed at the Hotel Fahrhaus while attending a friend's wedding in Miessen. The hotel was gorgeous and the owners Christine and her husband were so friendly and helpful. Our room was beautifully decorated and spotlessly clean...the bathroom was especially nice! There are only a small number of rooms so it's nice and quiet. Breakfast was lovely and was served until quite late in the morning which was a nice bonus the morning after the wedding! Overall we had a great stay and would highly recommend the hotel!

We stayed for almost a week and felt truly refreshed each day, staying in such a lovely, thought out bed and breakfast/boutique hotel. Christine and her husband made us feel very welcome and the rooms are beautifully designed. We travelled and came during week of peak flood of June...the hotel is completely unaffected and the water levels in the old town dropped very dramatically and the town is rapidly on their feet. Despite the recent flood, there was MUCH to see and do around the town and the surrounding areas. Fantastic immersion into the history of East Germany. We were visiting relatives and hope to come back again and spend some more time exploring Meissen - our time mainly curtailed by visiting relatives. There are many ways to drive to Meissen (as we discovered during our week), the most scenic coming through Nossen and the west side of the bridge. We look forward to coming back and drinking some more lovely tea there!

We just enjoyed a couple of days in this wonderful boutique hotel. The location is amazing, just in the front of the castle and the old town. The owner, Mrs. Paulson, has an international hotel background and you can feel it. Everything works smoothly and the entire property has been restructured with a lot of attention to details. The room nr. 4 was exeptional, actually it was a small apartment with two rooms (ideal ... as I stayed with my 85 years old mother). The breakfast was great, everything was fresh and prepared with love. Next time I'm travelling to Meissen I will defenitely come back.
