Fresh Wave Mirissa - Beach Front

I cannot fault this hotel! The staff were so incredibly helpful and friendly. Cozy clean rooms, with the most comfortable bedding and on the beach front. The Indian plate restaurant faces the ocean and the food, staff and atmosphere was a complete vibe. You can eat and drink on the sand sun beds or at the restaurant inside. Breakfast, lunch and dinner was always delicious and the evenings were a lot of fun. I’m a solo female traveler and felt so comfortable and at home at this hotel. The staff were such beautiful souls and all deserve 5 stars for their customer service and kindness. I extended 3 x and ended up here for a week. I’ll definitely be back. My favourite stay in Sri Lanka by far!! Shout out to the beautiful Nadeedsha at reception, an absolute gem and so accommodating helping me extend my stay over and over.

Hotel by potřeboval kompletní rekonstrukci , ušmudlané pokoje. Na to v jakém byl hotel stavu byl pobyt předražený. Za mě velké zklamání. Nejhorší ubytování na Sri Lance. Pobyt jsem zkrátil o 3 noci

We visited Fresh Wave Mirissa in February 2026, and it turned out to be one of the best travel experiences we’ve had. The rooms were exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the food was consistently delicious. What truly sets this hotel apart is its stunning location—it opens directly onto the beach, making the entire property feel serene and beautiful. The evening vibe is especially memorable. The hotel has its own restaurant where you can personally pick your fresh fish and seafood before it’s cooked, which made dining there a unique and enjoyable experience every night. The highlight of our stay, however, was the staff. In all our travels, we have rarely encountered a team that is this well-trained, warm, and genuinely friendly. They were incredibly accommodating, always ready to help, and went out of their way to assist us in planning activities and getting around the area smoothly. Another big advantage is the location—the hotel is conveniently close to all the major hotspots in and around Mirissa, making it easy to explore without hassle. 100 percent recommended for anyone looking for a beautiful beachfront stay with outstanding hospitality. We would absolutely stay here again

Best location if you plan to visit lantern cafe at night in mirrisa, breakfast was amazing. Staff was very polite.

The beach it’s located on is literally the only highlight of the property.

My friend and i had THE most unpleasant experience at fresh wave. Day 1 we asked for a simple adapter and even that wasn’t handed over to us till the last day. The staff lacks basic hospitality. Our bathroom vent was literally open allowing SO many mosquitoes and you can literally peep inside. When we raised an issue regarding this their solution was to cover it with a makeshift newspaper. The breakfast was below average. As a vegetarian i accidentally almost ate fish because there was no tag mentions of the food. As two female travellers we obviously went to see the night life and would arrive late only to find the shutter of the resort closed. It’s extremely scary for 2 women visiting an unknown country. We even raised a concern about this only for it to happen to us again. We had to walk ALL ALONE and find our way to the hostel from the beach. The manager there is extremely ill mannered and so is the female staff. One of the female staff was also allegedly taking a video of us and as soon as we mentioned women’s safety she laughed and when we caught her she put her phone down. We also decided to speak to the owner regarding this and his solution was to give a 5% off on our stay and free breakfast. The owner did not take our concerns seriously at all and that’s when we realised no wonder the staff is like this. I do NOT recommend this place at all, you will find better (and much much cheaper options). One of the staff tried to charge us 500 LKR for a towel when he knew we were staying there. When we raised this concern as well, their solution was “we will pay you back the 500 LKR” Horrible horrible experience.
