Location, design, staff, was on my own but want to return with my wife and dogs.

Idyllic setting with a canal walk on your doorstep. Lovely view of trees from the room balcony. The breakfast and breakfast room were lovely, full of interesting furnishings and art.

Balcony needed a good clean and the deck chair was broken. Restaurant outside seating area also needed a clean. Food for dinner for what we paid was somewhat disappointing although the waiter was very good and worked very hard covering a lot of tables on his own.

The remote location is nice, next to a forest and small pond

Breakfast was average, beds were really awful. Also the diner is a bit posh, with a Michelin star.

Breakfast was very good and location is beautiful although quite a long way from the motorway. A very friendly hotel if travelling with a dog.

Peace, Tranquility & a great place to rest up after a long day travelling. The welcome, the food and service were excellent.

Beautiful property sympathetically restored. Rooms all spacious and individual. An exceptional restaurant on site with true fine dining. Staff so welcoming and helpful. We stayed enroute to the Alps but plan to return for a few days
